Nate Washington was merely a role player for Pittsburgh in their Super Bowl run last year. He is a lanky, quick WR that made some tough catches. I think Sam could be that guy for us. Sam is having his best TC so far, and I believe he is ready to take it to the next level.

I'm excited to see what he brings to the table given the opportunity this season.

Nate Washington might have had some of the most inconsistent hands Ive seen in awhile. Lets hope Hurd is better than he was last year for Pitt. I was just never that impressed with him. Sure he could jump out of the gym but when they needed him he didnt show up. But I get what your saying.

Hurd has had an impressive camp from what I've heard and read. He is a WR who I believe still has the potential to be a very solid #2 WR in the league. He is lanky and just catches everything thrown to him.

What a horrible, horrible comparison.

Hurd to me is like a less athletic Antonio Bryant. He's a tall skinny dude, has good body control, and pretty good hands. Thankfully he isn't a head case and is the kind of guy you actually want on your team. He's a hard worker and plays hard when he gets the opportunity, and that's good enough for a 4th WR any day.

I haven't heard Roy say that B.S.
He's probably thinking of Miles Austin, but I do not recall Roy Williams saying that about him either.

according to Roy, Hurd is the fastest WR on the team.

It's Austin Miles and Stanback by a long shot. Hurd is one of the slower receivers. I don't know where you heard that, but I call BS.

Hurd just needs to keep going out and making plays if he does that the Cowboys will have a roster spot for him.

Hurd will be solid this year...if it weren't for his injuries he would have been getting more PT two years ago!

If we' re going to compare Hurd to a "Nate", I would use Burleson as a comparison not the speedy, stone handed Washington.
While he doesn't have NB's pedigree and not saying we'll ever see Hurd catch 80 balls like Burleson. However, he has a similar size/speed ratio and could develop into a solid second or third reciever sometime soon.

I think Washington is a better comp for Austin than Hurd. Hurd is like... every over-hyped 4th receiver having deceptively good training camps.

Hurd has got some size and has decent speed. Nowhere near Austin or Stanback and does not have much quicks either. But he can be an effective possession WR. He size reminds me of Irvin. Now if he could only play like Irvin.

Whoever the comparision the thing is I believe if Hurd can stay healthy, and continues to improve as he's done the last couple of years, then he'll be a nice reciever for us this year who will make us some plays. I'm looking forward to it.

Hurd is not over-hyped he has had very good training camps for a few years now, and if not for injuries he would have been our #2 WR.

I have a lot of faith in Hurd and believe he will develop into our #2 WR by years end. Hurds route running, catching, and body control are better than those of Austin. Also, I believe that Hurds quickness and burst are pretty underrated. Cant wait to see what he does with his opprotunity this year.

I dont see the comparison to Nate Washington though, to stay on point of the thread haha

No, Washington is a burner. Hurd posession reciever.
