Is it asking too much to run the ball to the outside?

Often times we continue to run the ball up the gut, over and over and over. I know it's a part of an offense, but we have guys that have quick feet, getting them out in space may be a bit helpful at times. Please give your thoughts....

Since we don't have an up the gut RB, no, it doesn't make sense.

It's like, we want Polly to be an inside runner so he is.
The running game as is has controlled the clock and been effective up to here. How will having all starters in affect the results now?

The Cowboys are averaging 35 ppg. The offense has scored 57 of the 70 points scored in the first two games, averaging 28.5 ppg. And they haven't really needed to exert themselves because the defense is playing so well. How many times must we explain that "complimentary football" means chewing up the clock, not scoring the most points possible?

There isn't space running outside. Outside runs you just hope a guy finds a gap and can turn upfield, but there's no more space there, especially against a good defense. What you're asking for is more of a quick pass/screen game, which I agree with.

Didn't they have two touchdown runs against the Giants attacking the edges thougH?

Listen to Big Mac's press conference on the game. He was not happy with the blocking on the outside runs. Critical thing to improve because we have some fast RBs.
Honestly, I thought we did better running it up the middle as opposed to around the end. I could be wrong.

I'm confused about your rationale. Tony is averaging almost 4 ypc and it would be a little higher if not for the short TD run.

Outside runs are hard with NFL defenses team speed. Also with the way the Dallas backs are built teams probably guard against it even more.

You would be correct sir. Unfortunately, Next Gen Stats only shows the highest runner, and I know Deuce has 1-2 strong carries outside. But it would probably be countered with the inside run results from him and Rico.

One of Ricos biggest runs came running up the gut on the right side right behind Martin.

We did inside runs more, because the Jets defense had lots of speed and outside runs just weren't successful

true. but we still can be critical of things we see right? like no one here would be unhappy if we go on to win the superbowl with similar results offensively, but on the way if there are noticeable things to clean up there's nothing wrong with acknowledging it. with that said, i'm jazzed so far

Trying to make him prove himself to them that he can run it up the gut, oh please!!

So that still means that we can't run the ball to another part of the field??

Somehow the guy from the jets found some room
