Is it dangerous to play Romo if we clinch home field?

It doesn't matter how long or short you play. If you take the first snap at qb you are considered the "starter" no matter if you come out after first series of not.
Nice, thanks

It's a phony made up stat that isn't recognized by the NFL. Choose whatever criteria you want. If you want to say that the first QB off the bus gets the "win", you can. It's totally up to you.
It's really a made up stat? I just got thinking about it on Sunday when they showed the comparsion between Dak and Big Ben and they said Ben holds the record for most victories in a rookie season with 13. So if I understand you correctly there's no NFL record for victories by a rookie QB? Or the record keepers don't count if you start as long as you play? Or did CBS or whatever station aired the game just put that up and made up the record as if it was official. I'm confused.

I still say you don sit Dak, you can't let the momentum go and allow these guys to sit a couple of weeks before the first playoff game.

Romo doesn't need reps he's a seasoned vet who is one of the best in the league when healthy and starting. He will be ready.

If they have everything wrapped up I would like to see the coaching staff use some of the real games to try some things they normally wouldn't do. Give the other teams more to prepare for and allow these guys to see if what they're drawing up works in a reg season game.

Well it's real because we're sitting here talking about it. It's not an official stat. Generally everyone knows what it is, and the concept behind it is fairly obvious. You can go look at NFL.com's official record book and there's no trace of it anywhere. It's not an official stat like passer rating is. The official NFL record book clearly defines what the passer rating formula is. I have no idea who defined the QB win but I strongly suspect it was Clove from this forum.
It's also a fairly dumb stat anyway, if a QB starts the game, hands off one time, and then exits with an injury he still gets the "win". The requirement is if you start the game and your team wins, regardless of how well you play or if you even stick around for the ending, you get a "win". How useful does that sound?

It would only be 2 of 5 backup OL at most.

I'm fairly certain that if Romo plays they'll keep the starting OL in with him.

I would like to see him play. Unfortunately it's a road game, but the fans will still get to see him play (on TV) his final regular season game for the Cowboys.

Also, if he plays and does not get injured, then he could have legit trade value this off-season.
I agree if we do play Romo to get the rust off of him he will be behind a pro bowl line for sure

Playing Romo could also put even more pressure on Dak. What if Tony lights it up and all looks well. Dak will go into his first playoff game with extra pressure, the fans could boo him if we are down quite a bit at the half, etc.

There are many reasons to get Romo some action and just as many to not let him play IMO. Let Sanchez get some work but I doubt he dresses.

Tough situation.......

Hopefully we won't need our backup qb Romo in the playoffs but if we do, it might not be a bad idea get him some playing time to knock off some of the rust.
