Is it possible for Elam to fall to us in the 2nd?

Or is this just wishful thinking on my part. Based on what i'm reading, there's a pretty good chance Vaccarro is gone when we pick at #18. If Cooper or Warmack are there at that spot, I'm hoping we go O-Line for that pick.

So i'm wondering if by the time our next pick comes around, if based on the odds, the other team's needs, value, etc. if Elam could slide to us in the 2nd.

Are there any draft gurus in here that can answer my question?

It's certainly possible, although if we drafted OLine in the first, I certainly would not be opposed to the Cowboys trading up for Elam.

Truth be told, I personally think the second round is great for safeties this year.

yeah i'm not a fan of taking Vacarro in the 1st so i'd be elated if we were able to grab Elam in the 2nd.

I don't like Elam for what the Cowboys need at safety. They need a guy who is rangy and a ballhawk, I don't think that's the type of player that Elam - or Reid for that matter - actually is.

Vaccaro won't be gone. He'll be there and they'll take him. Even if Cooper and/or Warmack is there too, I'm afraid. If they go DL, I guess it's because Moore is staring at them. Right now I believe they'd like to choose between Vaccaro and Moore.

Get two big boys in rounds 1 and 2 and then take Phillip Thomas if he's there in the 3rd, and I'd be fine.

I like Swearinger too. Even Rambo if he checks out.

Agreed. Elam would compete with church for that spot but would still leave Sensabaughs spot open.. Dallas is looking for someone who can cover ground in single high safety and play "Center field".. Elam is not that guy..

Once Vaccaro and Cyprien are gone I like Swearinger the best for a fit for our system

I think they like Matt Johnson to be that guy...but nobody can possibly know if he'll be able to or not. I think Rambo would be the perfect fit, and he can probably be had in the 4th, but he's probably off our radar.

Here is one mock draft where Elam goes after we pick. It has the Commanders taking him... UGH!!

The guy is going to be a terrific strong safety for someone... I really hope it isn't Washington.
