Is it possible that Ayodele might not make the team?

The Answer said:
They are looking at him because he's a starting NFL linebacker that can play in multiple systems, including the 3-4 which Belechik is an architect of...also Scot Pioli sees a young Tedy Bruschi, the exact reason we are most likley keeping him unless unless the Pats are willing to cough up Richard Seymour, then even The Answer might consider trading The Beast-le in exchange.

Your impersonation of Nors is a little over the top.

Isn't it about time you started ripping Al Singleton?

I have it on good authority that the undersized overpaid Al Singleton was cut during training camp in 2005.

LOL That same thought was going through my mind as I read the Answer's posts.

Oh yeah...I remember that now. :lmao2:

The answer (paraphrased by ImanRoshi for his PC re-cap):

Reporter: Why did you start Shanle and Coleman?
Big Bill Parcells: I wanted them to be in the game. I don't want to answer that question right now. I'll tell you in a week or two. That was a bad answer, wasn't it? I don't want to tell you something that's not true, but ... I guess its no secret.

:lmao2:

no

I haven't heard Parcells mention a thing about Shanle this whole offseason like I have him mention Ayodele

and think about it, Parcells started alot of younger guys in place of the veterans against SEattle, such as Hurd over Crayton, Romo over Bledsoe, the 1st preseason game is really just about evaluating your depth guys and younger guys with promise

btw, Akin tied for 2nd on the team in tackles against Seattle despite coming in on 3rd team

Never say never.....probably likely won't happen, but Ayodele has not impressed The Answer one bit. He was great in the Del Rio's simplified 4-3 in JAX....

Akin is playing weakside ILB in our 3-4, that isn't very complicated either, just run up the field and make plays

The Answer said:
but then again he had Stroud and Henderson blowing up plays left and right up front, allowing the LB's to wreak havoc up the middle.

uh, Akin was an OLB

anybody who has studied the game film as closely as The Answer has would realize this

I laugh at anybody who watches the game with the same mindset that you do

Did anyone see how huge akin looked standing around all the 3rd teamers? Man he is big, definitely doesn't belong with the rest of those guys. He's a beast, he stays first team imo.

Some may laugh at this question....but The Answer feels it's a strong possibility. Now albeit his play has been less than stellar so far through camp and one exibition game. But you have to wonder, especially now that Scott "The Animal" Shanle has supplanted him in the starting lineup, and the fact we are very deep at the LB position with Greg Ellis in the mix...

And for the Shanle doubters.....6 sacks, 63 yards rushing, 1 fumble recovery, 172 passing yards....these are the types of numbers we can expect to see when this kid is wreaking havoc in the backfield and stuffing the run.

Face it....this kid is a Parcells player, regardless of his lack of star power and he's going to be huge for this defense!

~The Answer

Just say no to drugs, son...

The Answer thinks it was a mistake to let Mroz go....scouted this kid for months and he has some talent, unfortunately we are too loaded for him to make an impact here....and Romo's rock solid showing the other night validated that.

Whoever signs him is going to get a player!

~The Answer

He got cut because he STUNK in camp...

First - I don't care for Ayodele. I think we overrate him here. He may be solid, but the only way he is starting by the end of the season is if someone else is hurt.

That being said - he will stay ahead of Shanle on the depth chart.

Shanle will never be more than a backup - his coverage is garbage and he is solid at best against the run.

Yet Parcells mentioned last year that Shanle was one of our better coverage backers. He was even on our nickel defense.

You have it backwards. He's garbage against the run, and solid in coverage.

I agree with him being no more then a backup though.
