After 3 quarters of a half gallon of 80 proof, I am finding moments of sobriety. Grant it, I am dying for food and sleep but who wouldn't after working 11 hours of work and then drink for another 6 hours....

When I do finally pass out, I hope it is for at least 10 hours..... I need to catch up on such...... Anyhow thanks for your replies..... Want to know what the other alcoholics think... LOL

@Ranching @Melonfeud are the professors on this topic. They'll be here shortly to give their so called speeches.

Not on a 6 hour drinking session, go for a 12 hour glug fest& drink water also to avoid pop skull headaches,it depends on how much and how often your hitting it,like if you plowed into it in the first couple of hours putting a big dent in the jug & then tapered off to a jigger or two per hour afterwards, I could see where you'd think your drinking yourself sober,as the longer your operating in that altered state, the easier it becomes to traverse a flight of stairs without going into uncontrolled tumble mode, launch fireworks from your boat while bass fishing, neck shoot a running buck deer with your back pocket pistol ect.,,,, that body fat index & your metabolism plays into this casing-liner equation also, like eating food to slow the alcohol absorption into the system, but with that amount of booze absent from the bottle in a 6 hour period, the cops would ticket you if you were found behind the wheel,,,,if you go for distance ( like an all nighter keg party),you'll find yourself becoming surprisingly functional by midmorning on the following day but you got to start gradually limiting the intake for the drive home, I've conducted extensive hands on research & applied a considerable amount of personal training time into this very question,,,, unfortunately D.B.,,, the only way to "drink yourself sober" is to leave the hootch in the jug & chug nonalcoholic beverages.

ask @Ranching

It's possible to drink to the point where you experience withdrawals after a day and a half of drinking and being sober for a week and a half prior. And it's no bueno.

I posted this elsewhere, I saw a documentary of a fellow that got the shakes while still blowing a .4 and change. Crazy
