I also remember how bad Wentz has been for most of his career except for one amazing 13 game run in 2017 and then a nice little 3 gamer in 2019. The rest of his career has been pretty much meh regardless of who has been at receiver. His completion percentage was kidnapped from the '90s And oh yeah.. he has gotten hurt almost every year.. Dak has more yards, more TDs, fewer INTs and more wins.. and has yet to miss a game. Wentz has 25 games in his career with a passer rating under 90 which is now the consensus Mendoza line for QBs these days. Dak has 20 such games despite playing in 10 more games. Dak's career passer rating is 97.1 and rising. Wentz is 90.9.. and dropping. Give me Dak all day every day and twice on Sunday. Again put Dak with Pederson instead of Garrett and there is no telling what he might have accomplished. He might already have a ring.. and he wouldn't have been standing around watching Nick Foles win it either.
I didn’t come up with this scenario. I’m just playing along. Wentz has never had a receiver corps like Dak has this year. Ever.

I'm not so sure about that. Peterson is clearly a better coach than Garrett was. He might have had the smarts to build an offense that suited what Dak did well the way he did with FOles when Wentz went down. I don't think anyone here thinks Foles is better than Dak (well maybe some do but hopefully not many) and Peterson got a Super Bowl ring out of him.
Well, to begin with they had a top 5 defense. And Wentz led them to 11 wins and home fIeld before his injury arguably playing at a MVP level. And Foles performed at a MVP level in the SB.

They haven’t had that level of QB performance since.

Just for giggles:

Wentz's passer rating from the first 3 games of this season
72.5
56.5
62.8

He has 3 TDs and 6 INTs.

Dak's passer ratings from the first 7 games of 2018 before getting Cooper..

81.1
95.4
54.5
118.6
66.5
107.5
96.5

He also put up 7 TDs to 4 INTs.

In short he did not come near the stink level that Wentz is putting up now..

We haven’t had a top 5 defense since 2003 which carried Quincy Carter to the playoffs .

Dude has been a total bust!

Dak gets blasted on a daily basis, especially by so called Cowboys fans, for actually putting up great passing numbers/stats, yet Carson Wentz keeps getting a pass for overthrowing wide open receivers and playing horrible.

Is it time to end the "Wince" project and start 2nd round draft pick, rookie Jalen Hurts?

What say you?

No, they should keep on with this futility! Serves a nice purpose!

Mahomes and Reid are like Montana and Walsh or Brady and Belichick.. the perfect blending of great QB and great coach. Put any of those guys with a stupid coach and none has the same level of success. The importance of just getting in the right situation is not talked about nearly enough.
Brady same situation. That was a playoff caliber team he took over. Bledsoe had taken Pats to SB what a couple years earlier.

It’s not just about the coaching but the supporting cast. It’s why so many top drafted QB’s fail in this era. They go to horrible teams and expected to start immediately.

It matters the team you go to and the supporting cast.

This goes back to the beginning when everything was benign. There is a poster on this board that proclaimed himself as a draft Guru and Wentz was the the Holy Grail. It didn't matter that we had absolutely no chance to draft Wentz but it became his Holy Crusade.

He posted nonstop that we would rue the day because we didn't draft Wentz and he gathered a lot of followers based on his false prophecy. They followed because he had a charismatic tongue and actually has football knowledge, but he uses his knowledge to sow seeds of discord.

Just as he proclaimed the demise of ex Cowboy players that now wear Superbowl rings. He is now proclaimed himself as the King of Sarcasm and only post to collect a non denominal currency known as "Likes"

I know we drafted Dak as a compensation 4th round pick but since we didn't even have a chance to draft Wentz, why all the comparisons. There is no pissing contest. Dak has out performed Wentz in every category. The question remains if we can field a defense good enough to win the SB. Welcome to todays' NFL.

I would appreciate all the Likes you can give me because it is something that makes me Somebody.

If I'm being completely unbiased here, I think age is just catching up to Jason Peters and he is struggling so teams are getting quick pressure to Wentz. I think his receivers are blah too. Looks like Ertz is declining. Goedert is good, but the receivers themselves aren't great. When Wentz was healthy and had weapons and rhythm going, he was a good QB. But that's happened what like once or twice in his career? It just depends on how his body ages. He's only 27 so he could still really improve if he can stay healthy, but the jury is really out on that.

No one is arguing that the Cowboys have a better receiving corps. But people told anybody who would listen that Dez was hot garbage the last two years he was here (Dak's first two years.) If they were to be believed there was no great receiving threat in Dallas from 2014 to the day they traded for Cooper. That means Dak has played the bulk of his career without a "great" receiver.. Dez was starting to get dinged up a lot by the time Dak came to town and in fact missed a bunch of games and played a bunch more with a bum wheel. Ironically I suspect these last two years away from football were actually just what the doctor ordered for Dez but that's a discussion for another day. The Eagles have DJax, Alshon Jeffrey, Ertz and Goedert. Let's quit acting like Wentz is throwing to high school receivers. He has been missing wide open guys.. That aint bad receivers.. that's bad QB play.

It’s certainly noticeable that the aforementioned poster now goes out of his way to avoid any serious discussion of the subject of Wentz.

Which proves what you’re saying.

Yeah look I'm not defending Wentz and I haven't watched the Eagles much this year, I just don't think he's a BAD QB when everything is going well. But I won't deny that he's had some bad years and he's probably having one now. Maybe I'm not spot on about the reason, but I watched him a ton in college (my alma mater played them in the playoffs seemingly every year) and at times he's capable of being pretty good. Never thought he was better than Dak. But the super bowl season before he got hurt (and no I'm not saying Wentz won the super bowl) but he was very good that year. Look, I am an Eagles hater lol I don't like them.

According to Eagles MB’s is that they have to much invested in him to move on (financially)...

even if they are dead last it’s unlikely they draft Lawrence...

Sucks to be them. Invest so much $$$$ on a top pick QB, who they gave up so many picks to move up to #2 in the draft to pick him, only to see him flop this badly 5 years later? Ouff!

I wouldn't say he has been a total bust. He has looked very good at times. He certainly has something wrong going on right now. It could be and undisclosed injury or he simply is regressing and settling in as not the QB it looked at one time he might become. Whatever is going on is good news for us regardless.
