Is it time to worry about LT?

I'm starting to get antsy about Tyron Smith. Going forward, does the FO need to draft a future replacement for Smith, or maybe sign a veteran LT? He already is not practicing during the week just to able to play on Sundays. Although unrelated to his current back problem, Smith had back issues last year as well. Doesn't look good considering Smith is still so young.

Why didn't he finish the game yesterday?

Well if Chaz green ever stays healthy he’s a serviceable swing tackle

But no you have a crap ton of money invested in him and signing a high price insurance policy is stupid considering the need for defensive talent

I would say it would be wise to draft a tackle capable of being a LT in the upcoming draft if one appeared in day 2/3.
Just make sure the dude doesn't have a 20 page injury report (cough cough Green).

Second to worse that player can be the new swing tackle, or play RT if Collins is deemed too expensive two years from now.

When you have back problems the last couple of years and have to take most of the practice week off.

There has to be some kind of worry about the Player...even if it is just a little.

Maybe he gets lucky and can cure his back issues over an off season but chances are that once you get a back injury and have back problems they just won't go all the way away.

And keep in mind that this is a guy that has a great build and not just a big man with a fat gut....He does not have the body type where he needs to lose a good deal of pounds in the gut to help out and build his core up. He is built like a brick blank house already so I don't know if he would have to improve much on his core.

it was not his back this time so there is that. But I do think the boys need to take a good hard look. Just how bad is his back? And then make a decision about looking for another tackle. Sad thing is - Tyron is only what 27?

that's the problem. he was supposed to be the back up swing tackle. but he is also injury prone.

Yes...

We should draft accordingly.

Green is decent but not someone we can depend on.

I'd look at RT instead. I think Collins is a LT naturally.

He will be fine for now but I do think he won't last long in his career with those back issues. He is signed until like 2024? Yeah, I don't see him making it that far

We have Green and then Bell. If Green goes down I’d be concerned but he probably won’t have guys falling on his ankles as much playing the edge as he does playing guard inside...
