.Is it too early to judge the Cowboys personality?

1st Aug, 2009While blogging during practice earlier this week, I said the Cowboys seem to have a different personality this season.

Brian Gallagher, from the great Cowboys website dcfanatic.com sent an email to me asking for some clarification.

At first, I thought perhaps I’d jumped the gun. How can anyone tell 2-3 practices into training camp.

Perhaps I was just watching the tone of practice, and I sent Brian this response on Friday evening.

I’d appreciate your opinion or comment on mine.

Thank you.

Brian,

My comment about the personality may be premature but it was something that slapped me in the face on Thursday.

But, after the past 2-3 years of drama queens and distractions—I see a team with so many new faces, young and old, and a team just wanting practice and play football.

They still have a diva or two, but I “sense” a different atmosphere during practice.

I don’t have a clue if that translates to more wins or less.

But the personality is different.

I would like to think a team that will run the ball more, will be tougher physically and mentally.

I think it will also keep the defense off the field with better ball control. Wade will have a better influence on the defense and any team usually gains their “personality” from their defense.

This might not mean much now, the proof is in the pudding starting in September.
