Nice to see him back today, but we're still on the hunt for a TE as solid as Witten. Dalton Schultz and Fergy did admirable jobs filling in, but the rest of the league seems to easily find these playmaker TEs and our GM needs to do the same. Another big Jethro weakness. Spent years trying to find a Jay Novacek replacement until Parcells the TE Lover came in. After Witten, still haven't found anyone, even though those hybrid playmaker types seem to be all over the league now.

He had 43 yards on 4 catches today. Solid game don’t get me wrong, but let’s not pretend this is going to change anyone’s mind to catapult him into top TE talk.

To be fair this was Ferguson's worst rep of the game. People are saying he pancaked Abdul Carter a couple times.

Honestly no one really cares about TDs. Probably the most overrated individual stat in the game.

4 catches for 43 yards is fine but this game doesn’t redefine him as an impact player…good for the fantasy community though.

Nobody cares about touchdowns? It's the single most important thing a player can do.

I don't care how many catches and yards a player gets. Scoring is all that matters.

The question in the OP was ‘is he cooked’; not ‘is he a top TE’.

Still this doesn’t really change anything. 4 catches for 43 yards is a solid game but plenty of guys past their prime have put up 50+ yard games.

The question on Ferg is his athleticism. Going back to last year he’s shown that he can find soft spots in a defense. Jason Witten at the end put up many games resembling 4 catches, 43 yards.

For the team, yes. For individual player evaluation? Absolutely not.

The 40 yard run carries more value than a 1 yard QB sneak.
