Is Jerry setting Romo up for failure?

I'm a big Romo fan and up until this point have been all for putting Romo back as the starting QB when he is healthy. I believe Romo would be the better QB at reading defenses and schemes if we were to reach playoff caliber teams. I believe Tony has done a lot to keep this team relevant when over the last several years and deserves the right to play behind this line and Zeke.

That being said, I think that if Jerry was to force Romo to come back against Philly or Cleveland and should be rusty or have a bad game, that fans will immediately be calling for his head. There will be zero room for mistakes and bad play. Lets face it....while Romo may be better at deciphering defensives schemes, Daz brings a whole different set of skills that Romo no longer has. Dak is 10 times more mobile than Romo. Dak is an obvious threat to run when protection breaks down, on bootlegs and designed option plays. Dak brings a threat that Tony wont. Dak has the players playing hard for him and have become comfortable with a game plan that suits Daks skills. This is a different Cowboy team with Dak on the field. Now I'm not saying we wouldn't be 6-0 with Tony because we probably would. But I like the style of play, the confidence this team has, and the chemistry Dak has built with these players, and more importantly the coaches.

As a Romo fan, I think the best thing for this team is to allow Dak to keep playing like he has and keep Romo on the sidelines. Should Dak struggle or teams start to "figure him out" and we start struggling, then we have Romo come in to hopefully do what we all think he can do. Should Dak and this team continue to win and grow, then its his team to lose. It would be unfair for Romo to come in, struggle, get booed, and then get benched. That would really put a bad taste in his mouth at the end of his career. Romos time may come.....but under these circumstances now is not the time.

What silly hopnoodle statement is that? Setting up Romo?

If anything Sir Jerry is setting up Dak to be slapped in the face.
"Dak, you've been playing well but now you have to step aside and let a fragile, aged, ego-driven QB WHO IS NOT THE FUTURE play. Maybe you can play next year ... or when Romo takes the next big hit."

Luckily, Dak has a good attitude. But in Dak's mind that will cost Sir Jerry big time when renegotiation or contract extension time comes around ...

You are assuming that Dak will be insulted by it. By all accounts, he's a team player and has a great relationship with Romo. He might be disappointed if he's benched, but he knows that his time will come. If Jerry benches him, you can bet rather than be insulted he'll use the time to study even more and evolve into something better than he's already displayed so far.

I did read, but you obviously forgot one of the things you wrote: " But in Dak's mind that will cost Sir Jerry big time when renegotiation or contract extension time comes around ..."

That implies that he'll be insulted and resentful.

#1 - Everyone inside the Cowboys organization knows Romo is the starter when he is healthy again no matter how much they love Dak Prescott and understand he is the future of the franchise.

#2 - Jerry makes money off the QB controversy in ratings, advertising and merchandise sales so he every reason to let the QB controversy go on.

#3 - there is no #3.

No, that is an assumption or yours. What you inferred is that "disappointed" means "insulted."
Didn't I say, Mr. Death, that Dak has a good attitude?
On the contrary, you imply and from that I infer that you believe Dak would not be biz-savvy enough to apply a "disappointed" tax on Sir Jerry come contract talks.
That is just biz.
To imply that Dak is not and his agent is equally thick gets me to infer you don't think Dak de$erve$ a pat on the back for having a good attitude. At contract time.
Don't imply or infer or postulate so much, my good man Death!

a "disappointed tax" is resentment. Now stop being pedantic and own up to what you clearly implied.

I infer you are semantically impaired.

I clearly delineated biz from resentment.
How many times do I have to write:
"Luckily Dak has a good attitude.
Clearly. Inquisitor maximus, you over analyze it.
So get this, in basic terms: Luckily Dak has a good attitude."
Sir Jerry owes him, big time, to assuage Romo's ego. Poor Sir Jerry.
Run Spot. Run, run, run. Good Spot!

I infer that you have no idea what you're talking about and backpedal from what you say when called on it. Good day, sir.

Still semantically inept. And naive in the machinations of ego-fueled business decisions.
And if you like to see the talented Dak make a beeline to the bench, that is your problem.
And you hate puppies!!!!!

What exactly do you not like about Dak??????
Bizarre
o_O

Now I know you're having issues with reality. I'm a big fan of both Dak and Romo as they are both Dallas Cowboys QB's that I believe in. I just don't like your snide hypocrisy. Ignored.
