Is Joe Jurascek the Problem?

The long-time Cowboys strength coach seems not to be able to keep up the stamina of the O-line or D-line. Maybe part of that is the individual player discipline, but these big guys seems to come out strong and then run out of gas, especially in the 4th quarter.

The offensive line can open holes, at least at the beginning of games. But then they seem to fade and slow down. That can't happen.

And the defense has to be a closer. Once the offense grabs a lead, the defense has to be able to step up. Instead, it's a wet tissue.

Talent counts for a great deal at the pro level, but the talent has to be developed and optimized for 60 minutes of play. This roster is good for maybe 45 minutes on a good day.

This is getting brought up almost yearly and I think there's something to it.

I have no clue if the answer to that is yes or no...

But Tom Jackson made an interesting comment about the Patriots last night on the Blitz. He said they just look stronger than their opponents and credited that to their strength and conditioning guy. I don't remember one time that I've thought that about this group of Cowboys.

I thought they were stronger late season than the Eagles last year. In fact, the Eagles actually changed strength and conditioning coaches, which suggests that they felt they had a problem in that area too. I agree we have no idea whether we have a good strength and conditioning coach or not, but other than Jerry Jones, he's been the one constant in these years of wandering in the wilderness.

The Jets should have an opening on their staff since their guy likes to trip opposing players. Let him go there.

Strength and conditioning is definitely a problem. But i think it's more a result of Wade Phillips' TC. Pads-on physical practices(extra weight and wear-and-tear), hustling between plays(more running), and wearing suits for games(having to tie ties) is being added to the foundation that Wade has built the past few years. Jason Garrett would be well served running his own training camp. This extra focus, hustling, and energy throughout the week and on gameday all takes a toll if you havent been doing it all the while. Joe J's not among tha problems.

I wonder if Joe is still doing the same things instead of looking around and seeing if there are better ways?

You don't think age has anything to do with our OL? Probably not!

Our line is not that old. Look around the league and there are a lot of very good to excellant O Lineman older.
