• Teams can protect up to four practice squad players per week.
• Protections last from Tuesday through the team’s next game.
• Players not protected can be signed by other teams to their active roster.

So, Milton can be protected other than from gametime (I actually think it starts with the "inactives" announcement) until the Tuesday window start. He's open to be poached in that gametime to Tuesday window but has to be put on a team's 53 for at least 3 weeks.

Are you sure about that Because I thought they just continued it and said they would now allow it because of all the injuries and the things need more players now and instead of expanding the rosters like they should they're leaving it up to the teams to figure out who to protect I have to double check that but it's not important right now but I believe the answer to the question is Joe Milton safe is he still a cowboy We are now midday on Thursday..hmmm
