Is John Fassel a fraud?

This guy was supposed to be a huge upgrade. One fluke onside kick recovery does not negate all of the very bad special teams play this season. Think about all of the criticism Keith O'Quinn got last year...if he was responsible for these things this year, he would be roasted.

• Atlanta game: Two failed fake punts inside their own territory
• Seattle game: 1 missed XP, 1 blocked XP
• Cleveland game: 3 minutes left with 1 timeout and a questionable onside/squib kick that resulted in the Browns getting the ball at midfield. Also turned a blocked XP into a 2-point conversion for the Browns
• Poor kick returns: allowing Pollard to always run out kicks from the endzone (Cowboys rank 22nd in kick return average yards)

That's pretty much at least one major mistake each game that we can't afford in addition to our defense struggling and offense turning the ball over.

It's possible the talent level of the Cowboys isn't as high as some folks want to believe.

Special teams have been horrid, but I remember people complaining last season when our return guys let the kickoff go into the end zone or called fair catch on a punt. Sometimes those are the right things to do.
