Last I knew he was director of pro scouting. Is he still on staff? for how long?

Will’s promotion in 2011 was basically influenced by Garrett but no ones screaming for his head.

I don’t have a big issue with a Garrett in the Scouting Department. Scouting is in their blood. Makes me wonder if Jason had gone from Player to Scout, he might’ve had a GM job somewhere by now.

He's over "special projects" as well, according to DC.com.

I think I heard on a podcast that he has his hands in the return game, so if that is indeed the case, get him the hell out of there.

I'm sure until his brother can put him into another position he's not qualified for

So then offensive coordinator Jason Garrett had the pull to get his brother a job as Director of Pro Scouting in 2008?

Fascinating take.

you really don't understand the googly eyes Jerry had for Garret?

Jones has had an affinity for the Garrett family since he bought the team. That's why he gave his sons jobs in any way that he could - players, coaches, scouting. Jason, Judd, and John. But it's another example of nepotism over qualifications and it needs to end. Entirely.

John Garret was TE coach, guess he just earned that one too?

John Garrett came to the team with 12 years of coaching experience for a pretty low level position.

It is not at all strange for coaches to bring in family members as assistants. Gruden, Reid, Belichick, Ryan ... that's just off the top of my head. That isn't unusual.

I guess if you're cool with **** coaches and scouting people in the name of nepotism I am too. Go Cowboys!!

From the press conference yesterday, Jerry made it sound like this was the first time in 30 years he wouldn't be writing a check to the Garrett family.

I guess you are cool with not knowing anything about what is pretty normative around the league.

Piss and moan if we bring in someone with no experience for a job they are clearly unqualified for ... but a coach with 12 years of experience for a low level positional coaching job? That's just your agenda shining through.
