Is Matt Jones still available?

Yesterday's game made one thing plainy obvious to me. This team lacks a true #1 WR, perhaps even a true #2 WR. The Giants were playing with a half deck in the secondary and they shut down the Cowboys WRs. Pitiful!

After the Tampa game, everyone was gung-ho about the passing game. Not me. In that game, we had three huge break-away plays that the WRs had, but those hapened more because of what Tampa's scrub CBs did wrong than anythig the Cowboy WRs did right. Take those blown-coverage plays away and these Cowboys WRs look pitiful against Tampa's scrub CBs too.

And things will only get worse for our passing game as these Cowboys face some real secondaries in upcoming games. Which makes it plainly obvious that this team needs a legitimate WR right away, ASAP! And so this once again begs the question, and does so unfortunately, "Is Matt Jones still available"? :(

FILET MIGNON SAUCE MADEIRA 4 filet Mignon, approx. 8 oz. each
Freshly ground pepper to taste
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. finely chopped shallots
1/2 c. Madeira wine (Burgundy)
3/4 c. fresh or canned beef broth
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. flour
2 tsp. chopped parsley

1. Sprinkle meat on all sides with pepper. Heat the oil in a skillet; when very hot, add the meat. Cook over very high heat - about 5 minutes each side. Cook longer if you want medium well.2. Remove the meat to a warm platter when the meat is done to your liking. Pour off any fat from the skillet. Add the shallots.
3. Add the wine and cook over high heat - about 30 seconds; add the broth and bring to a full rolling boil, stirring to dissolve the brown particles that cling to the bottom and sides of the skillet. Add a little salt and pepper to taste. Cook until reduced by half.
4. Meanwhile, blend 2 tbsp. of butter and flour in a mixing bowl. Stir it into the simmering sauce and cook briefly. Swirl in remaining tbsp. butter. Pour sauce over the meat; serve immediately.
Serves 4.

Matt Jones doesn't put this team over the top yesterday.

Honestly, I wonder if people watched the same game I did.

The Offense was not the problem.

The MAIN problem with this team is the pass rush.

I was listening to Coach Joe's shoe a few hours ago and he said there are 7 teams that don't have a single sack and the Cowboys are one of them and there is 1 team that doesn't have a turnover and that is the Cowboys.

so by adding a number 3 WR it helps us in our search for a number 1?

Just when you think all the stupid threads are done for this week, someone asks if we'll sign a coke fiend.

I love CowboysZone!!! :)

Well he is old but Marvin Harrison is available. He is still probably capable of being a #2. Even if he couldn't crack the starting lineup it would be worth getting him (if he would come cheap) to show Roy how to run routes and get out of in and out of cuts quick and crisp because he has all the physical tools he just doesn't seem to run good crisp routes.

This is my first season on the board seeing as I joined in December but the theme after a loss seems to be "lets go get this guy or that guy" and it fixes everything. That crap is getting tired fast. There is plenty of talent here. The coaches need to develop and put the talent in the best possible positions to be successful. If that's not happening then the coaches need to go first. Accountability instead of grab bag free agent of the week.

Why does these numbskull fans come out asking for frikken Matt Jones every week as if he is the answer. The team is fine, we WILL play better. All these kneejerk, borderline suicidal reactions from the whiny *** cowboys fans give us a bad name. Quit crying about it or find a new damn team.!
