Is OTC wrong about Osa's cap hit?

Respectfully, that doesn’t change the analysis for me. I would have made him play out his contract or traded him. I would not have given him a new contract. The dead cap hit was predictable. I wouldn’t have wasted that on a Martin that was already in decline.
I would not have either, but that is what happens when you have no back up plan.

There’s more than this, but these are the big ones

Thank Zach for holding out of camp while under contract, sucking and then retiring leaving $25m in dead money

He knew what he was doing, lol.
Jerry and the front office deserve just as much blame for caving on these deals. The Cowboys keep handing out big contracts to injured, average players, then act surprised when it blows up and they underperform. But when free agency rolls around, they suddenly go cheap and avoid proven talent like it’s off-limits.

The bigger issue is they don’t know when to walk away. Instead of cutting ties at the right time, they hang on too long and overpay. They could learn a lot by watching how the Seahawks move on from players before it hurts the roster.

Oh, of course it’s their fault. They routinely reward the wrong players because they don’t have a great ability to measure talent or to project future perforance.

You can't pass on someone who isn't there.
So he was already drafted? Okay...6 is wrong we had a chance twice....he was never there?

I'm so confused. Let me look up when he was actually "isn't there".

It says O'cyrus was drafted 59th. We had pick 12 and 44.

So we did "pass on him twice".

Yep...I'm confused.
