This was something that worried me before the Lions game. Media was posting a lot of graphics on our new and improved defensive stats since the trades, but the Raiders game (Raiders have worst offense in NFL) skewed those numbers.
What if you take the Raiders out? Last 3 games against Eagles, Chiefs and Lions. Respectable 2-1.
How did our defensive stats compare to the total NFL regular season defensive stats in those 3 games against legitimate contenders who are not facing a complete rebuild? So this is our last 3 game avg vs regular avg for all games in NFL.
Looks like the only thing we truly gained was a better rush defense with Quinnen Williams and our 3-man DT front, but teams are passing like crazy on us vs norm for NFL. Our pass defense is so bad that it almost takes total yards to the bottom, and prevents our first downs from being higher than middle of pack. Still struggling to get sacks and turnovers.
Can't stress how much we lose with Micah Parsons gone. Those turnovers and pass rush yards allowed were all greatly enhanced by the NFL's best pass rusher. What the Cowboys needed was the pressure provided by #11 AND Quinnen Williams. I see a lot of threads that Micah wouldn't make a difference, well, here you go. If we had somehow been able to start the season with that presence on the EDGE and DT, safe to say our defense would AT LEAST be middle of pack on all these averages.
