Is Potts really the next Calvin Johnson?

He’s a little bigger at 250. Megaton was 235 but ran 4.3.
No. He is not Calvin Johnson. I don't see Pitts lining up at X and scaring anyone. Pitts can be a really good TE. He might be a great TE. But he is a TE, albeit a modern F or H.

Not even close. Johnson could beat most NFL CBs simply with ability to run routes with speed and quickness. Forget the fact that he was a giant. Obviously Pitts is fantastic and will be a very good TE in a lot of favorable matchups inside, but he's no Megatron.

He’s way better than that.

2020 Graham? Sure. But Graham scored 51 TD’s in his 5 year rookie contract with the Saints. 386 catches for 4,752 yards. Obviously Pitts hopes to have longer sustained prime years than Graham wound up having, but suggesting Pitts is a “way” better than Graham would huge praise. Graham is a 6 time pro bowler.

With all that said, I’m not even sure Graham is the best comp just because of play style. Darren Waller is probably best in my opinion, with Pitts being a little more athletic
