My delusional Giants fan friends claim Darnold is nothing special and we didn’t miss out on him. Some even claim he is s bust. I still am in love with Darnold. What do you guys think? Did my Giants screw up by not drafting him?

Darnold is a much better QB than I thought he would be. Great poise and the Kid has a terrific arm. The Jets have an opportunity to put a good team around him. However, we are talking Jets.

Get rid of Bowles ASAP and bring in an offensive-minded HC and we'll see. Otherwise, Darnold doesn't have much to work with...probably the least amount of talent around him compared to the other rookie QBs. At least Rosen has David Johnson and an old but still reliable Fitzgerald in Arizona.

Not a bust. But he’s not a special player, either. You have an opportunity to find a comparable guy this year, and Barkley is legit. You just had to endure another terrible season to get the QB.

Sounds like those Giants fans are in the denial stage.
Next stage is bitterness, I believe.

Darnold will be a star next year and probably 10 more.

Yes. Giants missed out.

I was surprised when y'all didn't pick a QB, but maybe they like somebody else better. Of course I could get snarky & point out that they've done OK with Eli, so maybe they don't think you need a great QB.

He's going to be a bust if they don't get him an OL, RB, and decent WR. That team is devoid of star offensive talent and has been since Curtis Martin retired.

If he was a Cowboy he would be a bust. The fans here are very ignorant.

lol there is no QB in this draft "comparable " to Darnold

Giants made a stupid mistake and I'm very happy they did

So which are you?

Not a Cowboys fan

Or not very ignorant?

Because apparently cowboy fans on this board are "very ignorant "

There might not be a comparable talent available to them. If Haskins comes out, there is a good chance they will have to bid against Jacksonville for him. If they lose that, the other candidates this year are very meh.

If they lose Haskins, there best be may be to take one at the top of round 2, or move into the late first.

He is legit.

Did you screw up not drafting him?

Not if you eventtually draft Haskins, Tua, Fromm, or Herbert who are all a cut above Darnold as a prospect IMO.

With Hebert not declaring now, that might be the case. But it’s still a safe bet a player will step up and become a franchise guy where experts don’t expect it right now. Mahomes and Watson were both guys in the 2017 draft who went below where the Giants will pick in a draft that wasn’t supposed to be all that QB heavy at the top.

You have interesting candiates like Grier and Daniel Jones. Both look like late firsts to early seconds.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Lock. Probably has the most upside of any QB in the draft, but he has a very very low floor

What are the odds the Skins end up with Rypien?

Calling any 1st round draft pick a bust 15 games into their career is jumping the gun a bit, no?
