If you watch the dc.com video showing the player intros at the kickoff luncheon, you will see a subdued looking Tashard Choice. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but he didn't smile or acknowledge the camera. He had sort of a pissed off look on his face. This surprised me because I'm so used to him smiling and sharing that great personality with everyone. I hope he's not becoming too impatient about his role on the team.

Id be pissed off too if I was a better player than the person in front of me (Barber)

i wouldn't worry about that too much, if you watch them all i'd say 80% of the players looked like they weren't interested.

Yep. Hopefully Barber and a few others that aren't earning their salaries are gone after this season. If it comes down to keeping either Barber or Choice I choose Choice easily.

True, but Choice's usual personality just didn't shine through. He looked outright gloomy to me, but you're probably right that there's nothing to worry about. The kickoff luncheon is mandatory and maybe they all would've rather been somewhere else.

I don't know why he had a subdued look on his face then. Maybe he was tired from a long preseason and camp. Maybe he had bad gas. Maybe he was bored with the goings-on.

But he should be unhappy. The career of an NFL back is short, and he has to wonder how many years he has to make a mark and make money. Yea, in his shoes I'd want to start, or be in the starting rotation, or move to someplace where I had the chance.

And there's nothing wrong with that. I don't want a guy unless he has a burning desire to succeed.

I have to believe that 2010 will be a year of serious evaluation of Marion Barber's Cowboy future.

If it hasn't been already...

He has a right to be pissed... As a feature back, he is playing 2nd fiddle to a 3rd down short yardage goal line back.

Maybe...but geesh.

Backup the truck and hold off the presses on the "Choice disgruntled in Dallas" headlines. Good Gawd.

Maybe he was hungover....or just got dumped...or was angry he didn't take a pisss before all the proceedings.

Do we really need to be deciphering players emotions from a random camera shot?

It was just very uncharacteristic of him or at least my perception of him.

I'd laugh if Barber put up 1000+ yards this year, and scores double digit TDs. Then fans will be screaming to trade Choice for a 1st rd pick.

never happen

AN YES HE IS

Third string RBs should all be fully gruntled and happy when they get their opportunities. If they deliver often enough, they'll get their chance to start eventually. When there are good players ahead of you, you have to wait.

Maybe he was just pissed they ran out of salmon, or maybe his tacos were backfiring.

Mamacita, I didn't even like his body language early in this game. He was almost hanging his head like he was too good to be out there with these scrubs.

He's a nice backup player, but I don't think he's nearly as good as he thinks he is.

I think he could start. I just don't think he'd be that durable.
