Is the Alamodome a bad omen

Using the Arizona Cardinals in any analogy is verboten.

Especially since they train (or used to train) in cool Flagstaff.

New Orleans would've worked in the example, though. ;)

You're being pretty short-sighted. The list of teams who benefit from an exhaustive regimen in the heat is long, and made up of words. Your body is conditioned to endure more, and thus the effects of the drastic heat of a season full of games against teams in the northeast region of the united states is lessened. As a supporting example - look simply to the track record of the Arizona Cardinals, who trained in the desert for years before getting their new facility, and are always a tough win.

It's basically science.

Touche, Ms. Choksondik, touche.

Word is this turf isn't working well for players and is causing some injuries, why in the world did Dallas agree to hold training camp here again?? Nate Newton brought up the point on DC's Talkin' Cowboys...

Well, the players are going to have to get used to playing on all kind of turfs throughout the league...so that should not be an excuse.

The best record we have had in this century and millenium occurred after a San Antonio training camp.

The worst record in this century and millenium also occurred after a San Antonio training camp.

I still don't like the situation and I know the players don't either... It's causing problems!

So do you admit the correlation has little to do with where (or in what conditions) the team trains, and more to do with the talent on the team? You can't just pick and choose and say, well this team did well after practicing in the heat and ignore the ones who did well after training in mild conditions.
I do think our milder temperatured TC's are A factor in the teams late season collapse's in recent years. And I'm talking about the training camp factor because it's that time of year.

The Cowboys had so much success in the Jimmy era because they were the most talented team in the league. One of the most talented of all time. It's not because they trained in the heat.
Yep they were very, very talented, no question, but how do you know that training in the heat didn't enhance there durability, enabling them to live up to there talent level thru the grind at the end of the season.

Many say the Cowboys have talent now (not early 90's talent) maybe they do have talent. Since they have training camp in an air conditioned dome and in mild out door Cali. temps. the last several years, why all the choke jobs at the end of the year, where it looks like the opposing team is wearing them out on the field. I think this factor has hurt them.

And there have been plenty of great teams who have trained in mild weather. I don't think that teams that train up north are at any real disadvantage because of where they train. If it were proven that warm weather training was the best way to prepare for the season, everyone would be doing it.
Well good for them. It doesn't seem to be good for us, since we have so much talent nowadays as some say.
