Is the Bucs game a do or die game for any Dak fans?

People think believing in, and rooting for are the same thing. They’re not. I have been a Dak fan, if he puts that sh show on the field as he did last week, I will want change at the position. If he plays well and they lose, I am not putting that on him.

I don’t think Dak can do it. I don’t think he has the ability to read the field consistently, make quick progressions and then deliver the ball accurately.

He is a gamer, he has toughness, he wants to win. I’m pulling for him but I just think we kind of know his ceiling.

Hope I’m wrong.

Not for me. I’ve been happy with his play at QB since he was a rookie. I’ve always put him in the same boat as Romo….sometimes they are golden with strong receivers and a good OL, but every Cowboys team since we’ve had those two has been hampered by awful defenses and exasperated when they lose receivers and protection.

Im concerned by the poor decisions made by Dak this season more than anything physical. Because this season has been an outlier, I’m not worried about the future, but whether it’s now in the playoffs or next season, he must be better. Still, I’ll always be all in on Dak until the Cowboys actually replace him. Then I’ll be all in on the next guy.
But I think you are saying what many fans are saying. Dak isn't elite. He's not great. He's good. He needs great WRs and a good OL to succeed. There are some in this thread who would deny this and call Dak one of the 5-7 best QBs in football. He's most certainly not in the grouping at this point.

So, after 7 years, it all boils down to 1 game?

If he plays well and we win on Monday I've seen enough evidence in 7 years that he still is not a good QB and the Cowboys need to move on.

If he plays bad and we lose Monday I've seen enough evidence in 7 years that he still not a good QB and the Cowboys need to move on.

1 game in a 7 year career shouldn't flip you. The body of evidence is what it is and 1 game doesn't change anything.

I was referring to the current version of Dak but it's a fair point. Dak is at 62.8% for his career but 68% for the last two seasons. His won-loss record is being dragged down by the Garrett years. And Eli Manning led the NFL in INTs like three times and topped 20 INTs more than once. I seriously doubt Dak creeps into that territory .. but I guess you never know. This more aggressive version of Dak could end up tossing 15-16 picks a season from here on out. I just can't believe that will be the case though. It flies in the face of everything we know about him. I said when all this interception business started that he had gotten himself in a rut that he may not be able to get out of during the season. It's just hard to turn the ship around in midseason like that. I do think he will study like hell on it this offseason and get it fixed. Cause that's what guys like him do. Whatever bites them in the arse the most in the previous season gets all the attention in the offeseason. I don't expect Dak to throw more than 10-11 picks next year and going forward. Hell if you just remove the 5 or 6 volleyball INTs this year he's right around that number.
He had 15 interceptions which tied for the NFL lead and he played 3-5 less games than the next QBs on list . He is absolutely in Eli territory . look I loved Dak but he’s way to erratic at this point . The team found a different way to win when he was out by becoming a run first team If we have any hope Monday I hope we get back to that .

You are not wrong it’s a more than fair assessment of him.

If you think Dak is a top 6 QB or if you hate him there is nothing he can do in 1 game to change your mind.

If Dak wears the star, I'm on his side. Same goes for any player with the star, plain and simple.

I feel it is not only our right, it is our duty to want for what is best for this team. If Dak is not what is best for this team, why should we want him?

We should be starting Cooper Rush against the Bucs in my opinion. But since there's no way that's going to happen for reasons, GO DAK! DELIVER!

No matter what anybody says today, if Dak performs poorly and loses this forum will have a serious meltdown
Rush will never be a starter in the NFL.

Bucs aren't a great team, so beating them is not out of the question, but this team with this QB has almost no chance of winning the SB. Only chance is if every opposing team suffers massive amounts of injuries AND Cowboys play near mistake free football.

1st and 10 at the opponent's 46 with a little over 2 minutes to play and the season on the line and the game there for the taking. And he totally, completely choked. Culminating in the biggest brain fart seen in the NFL in recent memory, aka the Benny Hill slide to end the season.
Yah, how did he choke? Let hear this one.

Not just a run first team but it also became a "we will not give up more than 20 points team." Let's not leave that out. Of course we cannot swear that the offense will score more than 20 but if the defense can get back to holding teams to less than 20 I will take my chances that we can get to at least that. But not if we play like we did last Sunday. That can't happen again. Still I don't dwell on the 15 interceptions because of how many of them were perfect passes that receivers popped up into the air to have them turn into INTs. Yes the ones that were brain farts on his part or simply bad throws need fixing but the 6 or 7 that hit receivers in the hands or were tipped at the line I am able to separate those from his performance. I can't for the life of me understand why that's so hard for other people.

Are you out on Dak if we lose this game and he turns the ball over?
If not, what would it take for you to be out on Dak?

On the opposite side, if Dak can get us to the NFC Championship I will apologize for discredting Dak.

emotionally I’ve been ambivalent about dak for sometime. I liked him so much and he did so well coming out of his rookie season and for a while after that. Dak is our QB for five or six more years that’s just a given. He must have a great offensive line. There Is no other way D AK will be successful. We must draft a guard in the first two rounds. And a good receiver. Go Cowboys

I dunno man.. This offensive line has not been "great" since Fredbeard got sick.. and the offense has continued to be one of the best in the league. Not saying having a great line won't help.. but there's more to it than that.

Ill even say they havent been quite the same since we lost Leary. Then losing fredbeard hurt and the decline of Tyron. Ive been optomistic about Biadisz but he and mcgovern just seem to get pushed back in QB lap more than I like to see. Biadisz has improved this year. The premise that we have had this great line all 7 of daks years is not true.

They arent chopped liver but they arent 2016 by any stretch

I do think the linemen as individuals are capable. Some of the blocking schemes just look off to me. It seems like we don't utilize power blocking enough. Maybe it's because Biadasz and McGovern can't do it but there is just too much dancing going on up front for my tastes. I just know that when we have hunkered down and really punched the defense in the mouth we've generally been successful. But I get that not every matchup is going to favor going that route. I still come back to the biggest problem being that we don't get push up front and we allow leakage into the backfield. That speaks to guys not playing together enough which is a problem to be sure. And DGMS on our tight ends and receivers as blockers. Frankly other than Noah Brown they all stink.. or at best are below average. It also doesn't help that better defenses seem to just know our plays. Teams send extra people after our QB and backs with impunity. I really hope Moore has been seeing that and has a whole can o whoopass ready to open up for the playoffs where we give a look that they've been scouting all year and run something completely different from it and end up with receivers roaming free in the secondary.

Yep Our TEs have very little blocking ability.I have some hope for Ferguson but the other 2 not so much. I wish they didnt let callahans contract expire no one weve had since then were all that. I thought columbo was ok. Dont hold youre breath on Moore seeing anything but id like to be pleasantly surprised.

If we lose because of Dak then if I'm GM. I draft a quarterback sooner rather than later or bring some stiff competition in. Cooper Rush is not stiff competition-sorry!

I can’t disagree with what you’re saying cause honestly I don’t know but the edge lied too many times and I just lost my heart for him. Heart may not be the word. Come to think of it. But whatever the emotions are. No question about the caliber of the man. And he’s with us for five or six more years.

When did we lose only because of Dak?
