Is the Cowboys offense "overrated"?

Yes, Cowboys were shut out and a lot of games last season during the second half
That’s because we couldn’t get any time possession, that was significant enough to get the ball back enough, thank you defense, and anybody who thinks it was just the offense, they don’t know the game of football

You said it was the reason they lost in the playoffs. They gave up 20 points lol.

You are absolutely clueless.
You stuck your nose into a reply that wasn't directed at you and decided to get all defensive about my suggesting the Bears' D is worse than ours, and an attempt to pick 1 game in the year in awful weather that they only gave up 20 points to do so. Not only are you clueless, but you are very confused as to what the discussion has been about in this thread. Try to follow along; I know it's hard at times. My bad for trying to rationalize my other point on here; if you are unable to stay on topic of the thread, that is a you issue

. Detroit got physical with our receivers and knocked CeeDee out. Flores put Schottty in a clown suit.
Dallas scored 30 points and had 400+ yards on the road against Detroit.
Dallas scored 26 points and had 400+ yards with two missed field goals against Minnesota. It was the most yards Minny allowed and t-4 most points.

I don't understand the appetite to just make things up.

Yes, because it was really stupid.

No, it's not cherry picking one game. You said it held them back in the playoffs - the playoff loss where the defense played well would sure beg to differ.

You're just totally wrong. You can whine all you want lol.

Lol what does this even mean?

You yards per game is yards per game.

Good luck backing out of this one. You're point is just totally wrong.
That wasn't my argument anyway, so what? I'm wrong. I wasn't looking at just that specific metric. Good luck to you champ!

No, you are wrong, stubborn and still fail to understand my original quote. Their D only played well enough because of the actual weather at the time, no other reason. This discussion started based on 4 games that Rocky replied to, suggesting our O was not overrated, yet we put up next to no points in the second half of those games. The fact is, you chose to reference 1 game that had nothing to do with the topic of this thread. The fact that you are still unable to stay on topic, and by reading your other replies on here, suggests you are not worth wasting my time on any further

I'm saying that I'm not expecting a repeat with a 6th year RB and no one proven as a back up.

Sorry that gets you in the feels, it's just my opinion. I've heard your POV.
well, that isn't what you said to begin with. you included the OL in your concerns and then you said 125 wasn't playoff worthy.

either way, no one can argue with the "proven" part of your concern. we only have good showing thus far from all our other backs as hope that they can prove themselves.

we were just having an exchange of thoughts. why act like I was responding from feelings? I backed up the things that could be proven or at least why their was informational base for my thoughts.

Your original quote was that the Bears D was worse than the Cowboys lol.

Which is even DUMBER than whatever your point is about the playoffs.

We keep on hearing how the Cowboy offense is elite, but yet there were games last season where they truly underperformed:

14 points at Chicago-yes they lost Lamb early, but if I remember Chicago had a banged up secondary
20 points at Philly-they were shutout in the 2nd half where their defense only surrendered 3 points
17 at home against the Cardinals-there is zero excuse to lay an egg at home against one of the worst teams.
17 at home against the Chargers-Chargers dominated them

These are just a few examples. Everyone keeps on talking about the defense cause it was so bad, but the offense deserves some criticism as well. They must be more consistent or it won't matter how the defense performs.
If you could look at the gameday threads in the games mention above, OL play played a huge factor into what the offense produced. Key sacks/pressures on 3rd downs that resulted into a punt or a field goal.

Philly game, was a game that I thought we had a chance to win that game against a stout defense. Lamb went for a buck 10 but was forced fed the ball by Dak also had way too many drops in clutch moments. Pickens had 4 targets was a head scratcher.

Chicago game, Lamb got hurt on what many of us would considered just a bonehead play from the coaching staff. Dak had 2 picks & 2 sacks and faced pressure all game where he had to rely on Ferg for short dump offs and seam routes. I believed they pulled Dak in the 4th quarter and put Milton in. This game made us realize that this defense was in trouble, especially when Russell Wilson lit them up the week before. Schotty called out Dak without saying names but we was too busy fussing at him for putting Lamb in the backfield. lol

Cardinals game was worse than the Bears game. Dak was sacked 5 times and Ferg's & Williams fumble, Pickens unsportsmanlike penalty. Everything that could have gone wrong--did. One touchdown & FG on offense and a block punt from our defense Marshawn Kneeland.

Chargers game was fairly competitive until the second half. 3rd quarter 10 yard penalty put us behind the sticks, eventually punt because of 3rd down due to pressure on Dak. CD had a false start penalty eventually drive stalled. Next drive Cooper bebe false start penalty put us 3rd & long, drive stalled. Milton fumbled on the next drive, Chargers ran out the clock.

No offense is going to be perfect, there will be screw-ups with bad plays sprinkled in but in order for this offense to be elite our OL & offense has to eliminate the bonehead penalties and keep pressure off of Dak. Not saying Dak needs 6 seconds in the pocket but he or any quarterback needs to at least go through 2 progressions, which I didn't see a lot of that in key moments of the game.

#2 in yards and #7 in scoring last year. Returning all starters this year.

Exactly what did you want them to address?
Didn’t I outline that?

They need a vet swing that’s capable of starting in the worst way. I don’t know what’s going on with the progress of Guyton, which is half of why I say that. The other is passing off Steele as a starter like they did with Jeff Heath.

Stats from last year don’t much matter. I really dont know how you go into a season planning to win with a prolific offense and allow this tackle uncertainty. Hey, they certainly have more info than I do, but unfortunately I’ve seen this film too many times……the weaknesses that fans complain about all offseason as not being addressed are exactly what comes back to bite them.

I don't follow this. The offense got the ball. It's the offenses job to create time of possession & more importantly scoring.

If I remember correctly, we had average or above average number of possession in the second half of several games we generated little to no scoring. In other words, we had the opportunities but didn't do enough with them.
