I think our lack of all in the past years has handicapped us to the point where the eagles and commanders are too stacked at all levels where we just have to use the next 3 years to become like them

more like the next 13 years if we don't make moves to be competitive with them, they're getting better we're not

Two different ways to look at it....Philly is better than the Cowboys basically because they are stacked at all levels on both sides of the football. Passing them organically is going to take some time unless we see them get a little unlucky in terms of injury and player regression. On the other hand Washington is basically better than the Cowboys because of one position.....QB. Outside of the QB position I think most people would take what the Cowboys have on offense, defense, and special teams.

If the Cowboys want to compete at all they need to either have a true "all in" type of offseason or have significantly more production and efficiency out of the QB position this year. Maybe they prove me wrong but the Cowboys seem to be putting their chips in on the QB.

No...just need things to break your way during the year.

Washington was awful and hit at QB and spent in FA...1 season turn around.

I agree, but what prospects do the Cowboys have of hitting on a QB and spending in FA? The Cowboys have to actually have a dedication to change before we should actually expect change.

We just won the division the year before last. Last season we beat Wash with a backup QB. It’s not that bad.
I agree Washington doesn't scare me at all sure much respect for getting to the NFC championship game but they had a lot of help and a lot of luck and you're right they nearly lost to us twice with a backup quarterback it's a backup team I mean literally almost the whole team in the second game was backups and they literally had to use Marcus Mariota just to win and everybody's giving a little bit too much credit to Jayden Daniels I mean he deserves respect what he did was impressive for a rookie but I saw the same things with Prescott when he was a rookie not that big a deal but yes they should be respected but not scary at all no way I'd be worried about this division..

If you add to it the eagles are not going to be the same team next year...

they've already let go of two of their corners, I mean they're going to have to make some cuts ,losing coaches, in my opinion they overpaid the running back.. I mean yes he deserved a big contract but $20 million for a running back?! I mean I know Saquon Barkley was great last year, but what if the same thing happens to him that happened to Christian McCaffrey they gave him 19,000,000 per for two years that was 38 million, he got injured and even in his year he was healthy they didn't win the Super bowl..
I mean there's a risk being taken by the eagles so they may not repeat winning the division so with luck maybe the Cowboys once again win the division and maybe the other teams have the injury problems maybe the other teams have the bad luck it happens every year is very different I'm not saying the Cowboys are gonna be successful but injuries really sidetrack the Cowboys more than anything last year...

I keep having to explain this. The biggest difference is the Cowboys haven’t enjoyed the draft capital that those other teams have had. The Commodes have had the pleasure of drafting in the top 15 most years for a very long time. The Eagles set themselves up pretty sweet off of that fleecing of the Colts on that Carson Wentz trade. That one trade alone got them ahead of the draft curve and allowed them to have multiple picks in the top 3 rounds for 2 or 3 years in a row.

Ain’t no mountain high enough Ain’t no valley low enough to keep jerry from winning lol

I think it's perfectly obvious what will be hold the Cowboys back the next 2-3 years. Those two big issues aren't going anywhere. So thinking the Cowboys are going to pass up Washington or Philly and win the East (or more) is a mountain too high to climb.
While the night mares are rampant, explain how this: The edge rusher position just got a lot more expensive, so how this affect accumulated cap space after renegotiated.

Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby inked a new deal worth $106.5 million in total ($91.5 million guaranteed).

Micah Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys defensive end also seeking a new contract, sounded off on X to congratulate Crosby after the report.

The Eagles have been a very strong organization for quite some time and they are the ones we need to be concerned about.

This might just be me but I need more convincing that the Commanders are suddenly a force to be reckoned with. It seems like they just kind of managed to catch lightning in a bottle last year and won some games they had no business winning (like the Bears game Hail Mary). Remember people thought the Giants were suddenly good after making the playoffs under Brian Daboll in 2021 and the past two seasons they've gone right back down the toilet.

It's not but the Commanders have a lot going in their favor. Top 5 QB ( rookie deal ), excessive cap space, underrated roster ( not a lot of elite names but every player playing their a____ off, overachieving ), and more importantly, an aggressive owner. An owner who has mandated his GM/coaches to aggressively do whatever it takes for a Super Bowl while Daniel is on his rookie deal.

Dallas is married to a declining mediocre QB, and has far too much cap space allocated to him. This team is crippled for years to come. It's not "climbing any mountains".
You do realize the team created $36.7 million of cap room by restructuring Dak's deal and by the time they have to repay the dead money on it, the cap will have increased by at least 40 million anyways?

The Cowboys are not crippled by any contract. The Jones Boys only want you to think that way as a built-in excuse to not be actively improving the team. They are the ones that don't want to spend money. They'd rather spend free agency on their yacht.
