Is the season on the line this week?

The Chargers won't be easy. Their defense has been terrible but they can score. A week off to get the defense squared away a bit. Desperate team at home. Dallas is coming in like a wounded animal. Dak needs to show something after that Sunday night debacle. I think if Dallas gets rolled again and the offense can't get going against this defense the season will start to unwind. I know it's week 6 but that SF loss did some damage. I know it is a bit early to be calling for a must win but I think this week is just that. The remaining schedule is not easy.

We will win in a shoot out and all the people who weirdly disappeared since Sunday night will be back with every ranking known to man on how awesome we are and our QB is a top 5 .. and the glaring issue of not being able to win against a top notch team will go away to the first round of the playoffs when we get bounced. Then rinse and repeat... this is the life in Jerry's circus for us fans....

I can see us winning 1 of the 5. I can not see us beating. Philly, Miami, Buffalo and Detroit with Dak under center. Those teams are just too good for him to make plays. He needs to play against bad teams for him to look anything like a competent NFL QB. Against any good defensive teams and he just gets frazzled and can not make plays.

The season was iffy before we played the first game. Another questionable draft upgrading not one single position. Signing aging vets like cooks and Gilmore. I didn’t think we had a chance to be better than last year barring some major signings or player improvements. None of which transpired.

That would put them at 9 - 7 assuming they managed to win 5 of the next 7 games before that final stretch of games. That would be a nightmare scenario, but not exactly surprising.

Teams don't need a great defense or great stats, look at our offense, it doesn't make a D work that hard to stop us

If the Cowboys win they will have a better record than about 20 teams in the league.

The team is likely good enough to beat 25-26 teams. They will almost certainly make the playoffs and I think lose in the wildcard or divisional round depending on opponent. That is the construction of the team. A team that can make the playoffs-who cares about much more.
