My take on the situation

No, actually there are 8 more games.

And all the bad luck we've had -- the injuries, bad calls, bad breaks, etc. -- can easily befall our competition.

Every year as the season starts, if you look at all the schedules and pick the winners and then you evaluate all the W-L records and subsequent conference champions, it all makes perfect sense. But it never works out that way, and this season is only half over.

Let's just see how it plays out.
