can we still make the playoffs or half way through the season are we in fact shot in the ace again, God, I am so depressed today I feel like my puppy died, but I have looked at our schedule, and no matter how you cut it I am not sure this team can make the playoffs at all.......................
Is this so called high power defense of ours able to stop any team with a respectable record, I just really dont think we can, either by skeme or personel it is becoming a joke when all you have to do is drop back and throw it as far as you can and we cant stop you, and the number of stupid penalties are ridiculous as well........
I am beginning to think we will be lucky to have a winning record this season little alone have anything to look forward to in the post season........

Fortunately for us today's NFL has 3 categories of teams.

1. Terrible teams
2. Mediocre teams
3. Beneficiaries of 1 and 2.

We are number 2 and we have a fighting chance.

What do you mean we can still go 12-4. Technically you are right but the problem is that means we must win all 8 remaining games and we haven't even been able to win 2 in a row. We could still get to the playoffs with a 10-6 record, but again we'd have to win 2 in a row a few times which is doubtful. Makes me sick. Unless something dramatically happens this week or very soon, we will be lucky to go 9-7 and probably more lucky to end up 8-8. Well at least we get a decent draft pick which hopefully we don't screw up. But heck we'll probably draft another LB and still not get the pass rusher we need.

In terms of our record winning the division is not out of the question. The NY Giants have a two game edge but a brutal schedule coming up:

The problem is not our record, that can be overcome. Right now I just do not see how a team that went 4-4 the first eight games, turns around and wins six or seven of the next eight.

As bad as things seem, we're ONLY 1 game out of the WC lead. We're in a massive bunch of teams with 3-5 wins.

Dallas still controls their own destiny of making the playoffs or not. The road just got tougher in terms of the division but even that is not out of the question at this stage. We have 8 to go and if this team can cut down on the mental mistakes we do have the talent to make a real run

As you can see there are only 4 teams with better records than us.. not counting Seattle until they complete their 8th game tonight. Our game with Atlanta may be the game we have to win to get in.. We hold the tie breaker with Carolina .. We also play the saints. so if Atl comes back and takes that division.. we would have to beat the saints for the tie breaker..

I really think we have a great chance.. I don't know why.. it may just be foolish optimism.. but I think this team will turn it around and quit making mistakes.

I think you are pretty close here, relatively speaking. There should be a category for pretty good that is populated by three or four teams, i.e. Indy, Bears, Denver and New England. That leaves the rest of the teams. Hopefully the Cowboys can go from Mediocre to pretty good in the next few weeks.
