Any thought's
Would you trade him for a pick in the draft or keep him as insurance.

Not really. He has more value to keep another season than he would getting traded. At his age no one is going to offer much.

Junior. Think about where we would be with Brad Johnson as the starter now. Then maybe think a little harder before you post.

He's worth more to us as a solid backup than to another team.

I would think maybe a team like Arizona would get him as a stop gap/mentor to a young QB that can actually use the weapons they have...that's about it. But even then I think you are talking about a 6th or something like that.

If Dallas really thinks Stephen MgGee is ready to be the primary back up, then there may be some trade value in Kitna. Not much, but some. In my opinion, Kitna is worth more as the guy backing up Romo than what Dallas could probably get in return.

C'mon man! What would you trade 40 year old back-up qb for? He's more valuable sitting on our bench than sitting on someone elses don't you think?

I doubt it... HOPEFULLY Dallas won't be dumb enough to allow him to walk after the season though.

The only reason Kitna would or should not be a Cowboy next year is if he started be disruptive and demanding the starting role. I seriously doubt Kitna would act like that. He never has in any of his past stints. He is pretty good back up. It is too bad he is not just a few years younger.

He is under contract for the next 3 years at about 2.8 mil per year. Not bad for a good backup QB. Let's keep him around.

No trade value at all...

Age and how many team's out there that need him have the weapons Dallas has ?

Having a competent and effective backup QB is an extraordinarily rare and valuable luxury. Let's hold on to it.

Kitna has been great as a backup, great as a leader.
He is great on the sidelines, in the lockerroom, and in meetings.
He is a humble man that knows and relishes his role.
He loves playing for the Cowboys.

I can see no reason for him not to be a Cowboy next season.

I love the guy.
