Is this a learning experience for Jerry?

Just wondering, do you think he's seeing what's going on with the eagles and taking notes?

  • they supposedly "WON" free agency by overpaying a fragile QB who's never won anything.
  • they neglected to address their O-Line and instead chose to overpay a perceived shut down corner on the wrong end of 30.
  • they assumed that signing big name free agent DE, Cullen Jenkins would cover their D-line issues
  • And they made the mistake of drafting a diva WR and compounded that mistake by allowing his contract situation to become a distraction
Meanwhile in Dallas,
  • We drafted an O-linemen in the first round for the 1st time in decades
  • Although it wasn't by choice we avoided paying asomugha what he was demanding on the market
  • we secured our LT to a long term contract and continue to build our O-line from within
  • We signed low priced free agents to address our safety need
i don't know what jerry's taking from all of this, but it looks to me like we're finally headed in the right direction for the long term. We're supposed to be a rebuilding team, and we're fighting for control of the conference.
still a lot of work to do, but i'd HATE to be a Philly fan right now.

There is no way Jerry can learn anything - ever. It's always the same ole meddling Jerry. ;)

1.) This is all on Reid. He had to have gone to Lurie and sold him on Vick(last year). Then on Young, this year.

It was an EPIC FAIL. 2x

2.) He took a shot. But they had bigger problems on D. An offensive coach coaching defense, maybe? lmao

3.) Again, took a shot. Could Cullent help us? :)

4.) That more on the WR. He is an arse. He does stupid things on the field. He threw McNabb under bus. There is a top 10 list I am sure.

All these add up to Merry Christmas - No SB for you(Eagles), 100 years!

No. Because I think he already learned that.

This notion that the Cowboys are big free agent spenders doesn't hold water. Review our spending on outside free agents over the years. We've never been the offseason champs. We've tried to follow the Patriots model more than we have the Commanders.

Reid's main mistakes have been placing that OL coach in charge of the defense, not having two starting quality QBs, and probably overpaying Vick/Asomogoa (if they make it to the SuperBowl in the next couple of years then it wasn't overpaying.) It's still possible that most of their FA pickups are going to be great players for them, remember this is only their first year in Philthy and this is with a pretend defensive coordinator.

Jerry has learned a few lessons over the years, but so far all of his efforts towards putting together a solid OL have been unacceptable.

Two starting quality QBs?

What team does have that?

just a little humor (and truth) for ya,,, if you're going to have Vick as your starting QB you'd better have another starter on your roster as well for when he is injured.:p:

One would think he's learned from his own past experience a couple of years ago... It's more like the Eagles should be learning from him.

Eagles and Commanders have proven it does not work. The Haynesworths and Asmoughas are not worth half of what they got paid. Guys like Javon Walker with the Raiders, etc. The overwhelming amount of data says that this does not work. Draft and find bargains in FA. that is it.

Eagles didn't have to jump the gun and re-sign Vick after last season, they should have waited until end of this season to re-sign him, imagine how much money they would have saved, possibly 50 mil or so.

Where's that loser Dungy who was pimping Vick like crazy 2 years ago?

When was the last time we spent major money in free agency? 2007? Well that year our biggest signing was LDavis a guard. And signing Cullen Jenkins did not negatively effect the Eagles, he's been arguably their best defensive player (I know, not saying much).

The lesson learned in all this should be have nothing to do with Philly. Don't have a locker room full of quiters. MVick showed in Atlanta he was a quiter. DJackson is showing now he is a quiter. No one on that Philly team is a leader. After they started 1-4, Cullen Jenkins said he got tired of waiting for a vet to step up and say enough is enough, so he finally did and they showed some life, but couldn't sustain it.

Keep losers out of the locker room and stuff like this rarely happens. Guys like Roy Williams who shrink in the biggest moments and pad stats when expectations are low will ruin your team.

If Jerry has learned anything it's likely been from his own mistakes, not someone else's.

......did you get a LOAD of that team last night? Asomghua was just BRUTAL....he absolutely didn't want to tackle anyone. When Lynch went into the end zone he just flailed at his feet....that was the ultimate ''business decision" and just a GUTLESS act. Sure glad we didn't sign him.
