That Jerruh and the guys did not see anyone who could challenge any of our starters? Because that is the only reason I can see that we bagged the first two rounds completely. Do they really see someone they can get in the third that will challenge ANY current starter?

The difference between the player we could have drafted at 51 and 75 must have been very minor. We don't over pay (financially) either.

Remember, Witten and MBIII were all drafted later in the draft than where we are now.

Yes it was, and is that weak. Tomorrow will only be worse. But don't worry, we have 12 picks, and many people on here believe that if we can only hit on half of them, we'll be ok.

I'm sure that won't be difficult considering we have a bunch of very late picks in a horrible draft to begin with.

I have to admit that it is certainly weak in standout players. QB, WR, RB, CB, all look less talented then last years. None of this years OTs looked as good as the top ones last year. So maybe the boys were smart and avoided picking backups in the second.

Yesterday, I think it was yesterday Stephen Jones said he doubts they could draft a player that could come in and start he alluded that maybe safety would be the only position and that might be a stretch...I think he figured if they got Delmas maybe he could push Sensabaugh.

So what you can now do is get better value in the third, get developmental players that can contribute on special teams right now. Maybe someone like a sidbury at OLB, r.johnson at safety, Duke Robinson at OG or Brandon Tate at WR...someone that might be a starter after a year or two.

That does not mean it will work out...but that would be what the explanation means IMO and I think that is a valid explanation.

I really think the players they wanted in the second round were taken before their pick so they just traded down to get others at better value.

We can also take some of those extra picks and trade up for another pick/s in the 3rd or 4th round.

So there are value players left who can contribute in the future or be possible starters in the future while working on ST until that time. They just have to find them.

Considering we got some players like Scandrick and Choice in last years draft who exceeded expectations...I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now. We might get a player or two that exceeds expectations and push starters...I doubt they thought they would get that when they took scandrick and choice last year.

If this draft is as weak as it looks right now=there might not be anyone we get that is gonna really contribute anyway.

The value in this draft is really Round 4, IMO.

This was a weak draft at the top.

That doesn't mean the entire draft is weak.

There just isn't sufficient disparity between the 2nd and the 3-4th rounders this year. It happens.

This is the type of draft were you want your "risk" concentrated in the middle rounds, not the top rounds.

Frankly to me only real value is finding players that will start for you one day.

This is one of the worst drafts that I can remember, half the guys taken in the first round would be lucky to be 2nd rounders last year.

And as far as teams giving up 1st rounders next year to move into the 2nd round this year is just beyond ********.

This seems to be by general consensus the worst draft class in quite a while. So maybe getting no one is a good thing.

Again no way to tell but I hope that was a spin about no one being able to start. Well, that's a great thing. What a wonderful problem. You should always be looking down the road. I think your previous posts are on the mark.

Perhaps they can get the same value lower. We'll see. If you're going to be a maverick then you'd better be right.

Pat White is actually a good pick FOR THE DOPHINS because they already employ the wildcat as a staple of their offense and have lots of room for a developmental player. We don't. We already have those slots filled up with people we think are developing nicely and don't want to replace. He is NOT a qb in this league. He is smaller than Flutie for god's sake.

Is this post that weak?

That Burmuh cannot see any other course of action other than to reach for a backup player? Because that is the only reason I can see that we bag on a Darft that isn't finished yet. Does he really see logic in this screed that is worth ANY attention at all?

Is Hostile normally this dim?

IF as so many are proclaiming all that is left are backups and ST types, then why not reach for one that looked at least a step or so better?
