It would be good if Gallup was on IR right now.

Yes, I think it is.

But because of his recent extension his cap hit will be pretty significant. Around $13mil.

He'll have to be a post June 1 to make it palatable.
13 mil but his contract is designed to cut him early. He will be cut before the 5th day of the league year since he has a guarantee that kicks in after

Most of MG's catches tend to be contested because for the past 1.5 seasons he has sucked at creating separation.
No he just drops the easy ones lol in reality he is what he is. He can make the tough catches but he’s gonna drop 10% of his attempts. Pretty much has his whole career

Gallup looks toast.

Cooks is a speed guy on the wrong side of 30.

Cowboys need help in the WR room. That's why they're taking a hail mary on Martavis Bryant.

What's his cap hit if he is? Was so promising before the injury. Now he's just a jag. Can Dallas afford to release him in 24 if he doesn't step up for the rest of the season?
Here’s a link to Gallup’s contract details along with current and future cap hits.
https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-cowboys/michael-gallup-25180/

MG signed a 5 yr $57.5 million contract in 2022. Looks like $27.5 mil of that is guaranteed. Also appears that he will be close to that in pay out by the end of this year. Looks to me that he would still have a $13 mil cap hit in 2024. I may be wrong about the exact numbers so someone else may see it more clearly.

He pretty much shouldn't be playing.

I can't see them keeping him at this point, I wonder about Cooks too.

He has been a great #2 receiver for Dallas. He drops a few now and then but also makes incredible catches. I hate talking bad about a Dallas player that lays it on the line!

Cooks is good.
Cooks is on pace for 41 catches 400 yards and 5 tds. His cap hit is 10 million next season.

Gallup is on pace for 46 catches 516 yards and 0 tds.

Sans the touchdown advantage I'm sure both will be evaluated.

Cooks is a good player. They could scheme him open just like they do for Lamb.
