Dolphins | Mare on the way out?
Tue, 14 Mar 2006 05:03:51 -0800
Harvey Fialkov, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/167">Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins PK Olindo Mare has asked to be released or traded after recently being told to take a substantial pay cut, according to a source. "They told him he was overpaid and not worth the money, and to take a pay cut or they'll trade him,'' the source said. "He said, 'Are you kidding me? Release me now to give me a chance to find out my market value.' He was shocked.'' Mare is slated to earn $1.4 million this season and signed through the 2009 season. Mare's agent Drew Rosenhaus denied a trade ultimatum was given. "Olindo has a contract with the Dolphins. He would love to stay with Miami. If it doesn't work out, he'll be a coveted guy as a free agent,'' Rosenhaus said.

was about to post that myself

last yr was 25/30 on fg's, including 6/6 from 40/49 and 1/2 from 50+

for career is almost 83%, including 53/73 from 40+ and 13/24 from 50+

He missed 4 FG's under 40 yds?

yeah I've always thought he was one of the better kickers in the league. Doesnt get a lot of face time cuz he's been kicking solid for so many years now. The guys has a serioius leg. I think I've seen him bust a 63 yrder. I know I've seen him do 60 yrders in warm ups, but I think he hit it in a game too

If paln A (vinatieri) and plan B (Vanderjagt) don't work out, then yes, we should take a look at Mare.

does anybody know how his ko's are in comparison to Vanderjagt? I don't recall the fins needing a ko specialist?

Hes better then TO!!!!!!!!

There are rumors that something is physically wrong with Mare

If we don't sign Vinatieri-I would be up for Vanderjagt and look for a new punter that could kick off...

He did some hankey pankey with and old girlfriend of mine and left her with a broken heart - he sounds good to me!
