With the low interception total, QB rating in high 90's, and completing over 62 % of passes ?

It absolutely is, especially if you take fumbles into consideration.

The fumbles have been the main thing to me. I was never that worried about the ints. To be honest with you, I'll take his int total of 07 if it mean our offense will be as explosive as it was that year because the defense is definitely eons better than that.

But he's barely fumbled the ball. And he's been sacked more this year than in the previous 2 years at this time. I can only think of 2 fumbles this year and both of them were on blind side shots that he couldn't have done anything about.

But honestly, he needs to take more shots downfield. Period!

Good point. I think he's having a great year and remember 3 of those picks game in the Giants game. I think part of not going deep is he's not "throwing it up" that he got blasted for.

But I agree we need to get the ball downfield more.

ANd win one in playoffs if Cowboys do make playoffs. But he is playing mostly mistake free. ANd its also one of the reasons the third down conversion has been lower than normal. He is playing really good, but not great though.

I've been a critic, but he's been outstanding particularly protecting the ball. Take away the 1st Giants game and he's at 21 tds and only 4 ints.

Question, Do you think it`s Tony`s fault or JG`s??

I think it's his second best year. It's tough to top what he did in 07 though it is his best season from a turnover standpoint.

Based on the O Line he is playing behind, the WR drops he has had to deal with, and the force feeding the ball to MBIII to no avail, I'd say so.

2007 was on hell of a season... 36 TDs, nearly 65% completion percentage.
If it weren't for Brady's 50 TDs that year he probably would have had MVP consideration.

I agree with those saying 07 was his best year. Also, if you go back and watch the playoffs game, He was damn near masterful in certain ways in that game.

Especially the 3rd down conversions that we complain about right now.

This is romo's best year.

If we fail to make the playoffs, ask Romo which season was better, 2007 or 2009.

He is better at some things this season -- namely protecting the ball and not turning it over -- but he had a tremendous season in 2007.

Not if we don't make the playoffs.

Making the playoffs does not determine if a QB is having a good year or not. The Chicago Bears made it to the SuperBowl with Rex Grossman in 2006 and he had 20 ints that year and his QB rating was barely over 70. I dont think anybody would even try to argu that Grossman had a good year.

Likewise, there are QBs who have great seasons and their teams just dont go to the playoffs because their defense and special teams flat out suck.

Regardless of if we go to the playoffs or not, Romo is having a great season. Its not his fault that our defense and special teams freaking blow. he is not the one that cant cover receivers and cant kick FGs.

I like his 2007 year better. While he is protecting the ball better he plays his best when he is allowed to free lance and move around. JG has turned him into a pure pocket passer. The book on Romo in 07 was try to keep him in the pocket. So what do we do we, we make him a stationary pocket passer playing into what defenses want him to do. He needs to be turned loose again!!!

Indeed. That is going to be a tough year to beat, though this season comes close since his turnover numbers are so far down.

When you're wondering if a guy is having his best year with the #'s he's put up in '09 (a career year for most QB's), it gives you an idea of how good he really is.

He's the 2nd ranked QB in NFL history for a reason. He breaks Cowboys passing records at an unbelievable rate. Oh, and he's doing it this year without the player that "made him". I've read for many months how ordinary (or even terrible) our receiving corps is, so this guy must REALLY be good, huh?
