Can he do this again against the Seahawks? Who do they have in the secondary?

Bob Hayes holds our single game receiving yardage records at 246 in November 1966. If I'm not mistaken, during the game either Troy or Buck said today was our first 200 yard receiving game since 2002. I can't think who we had then that would've had a 200 yard receiving game. I know they mentioned some year and it wasn't very long ago.

Cowboys 200-yard receiving games

Bob Hayes 246 at Washington (11/13/66)
Frank Clarke 241 vs. Washington (9/16/62)
Lance Rentzel 223 vs. Washington (11/19/67)
Tony Hill 213 vs. Philadelphia (11/12/79)
Terrell Owens 213 vs. San Francisco (11/23/08)
Michael Irvin 210 vs. Phoenix (9/20/92)
James Dixon 203 at Phoenix (11/12/89)
Kevin Williams 203 at Arizona (12/25/95)

not true. anyone can score a td on the goal line. not everyone can get 150+ yards. i do agree that 170 with 4 td's is better than 200 and 1 td though.
I'll take 4 goaline tds over 150 yards any day.

Schizophrenia?

i was disagreeing to his td>yards comment, not the stat lines of those 2 games. i thought it was rather obvious, sorry for the confusion.

there has to be a cut off point. is a 10 yard 1 td performance better than a 100 yard performance? is a 10 yard 2 td performance better than a 100 yard performance? what about a 100 yard 2 td performance and a 30 yard 4 td performance? you have to get to the goal line to score the td in the first place. yards get you there. catching a 60 yard bomb(while not scoring) is harder to do than catching a 10 yard td. martellus bennet could score 4 times from the 1. could he have a game of 200 yards and 1 td? not a chance in hell. someone is going to score the td from the goaline, it could be anyone. not everyone can get you there with mass yardage.

i think what you're saying is you would take 28 points over 150 yards and no points. i'm not saying we don't get those 4 td's from other players. i'm saying the individual performance is greater with yards.

No, his best game came against Park Cities Elementary last off season where he read "Little T Learns to Share" and then let his competitive nature run a muck during recess and racked up 1500 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns. Word is he snubbed his quarterback, little Tommy Studabaker, and started a rumor that he has coodies.

A complete playground cancer I tell ya'!

It still isn't clear. That was his point and you disagreed. You also agreed.

Just curious...

How many of TO's yards led to scores?? (TD's and FG's) - Thats what really counts, right??

every single long catch he caught(3). we scored points on that same drive. 2 were touchdowns, the other was a fg. yards also help in the other scoring drives, even if they aren't massive bombs. i'm sure if martellus scored 4 td's from the goal line, you would have yards from the 200+ yard wr in that same drive to help him get there.

sorry, not sure how to clear it up anymore. if you read my posts after that comment you would see i believe yards are more important than td's performance wise.

Yards CAN NEVER be more important than points.

are you serious? read what i have been saying. nobody is taking away any points. just because TO doesn't get the points doesn't mean someone else isn't. you can't say that about someone just getting td's. someone else is getting them the yards for him to do that. yards take you down the field for td's. to get short td's you have to be taken there. TO had a huge part in every score we had with his 200 yards. if he had 10 yards and 3 td's someone else was doing the work. i don't know how to explain it any better. it's the same thing for quarterbacks. say a qb has 500 yards and 0 td's, but his team scores 35 points. compare that to a guy with 180 yards and 5 td's, his team also scoring 35 points. the first team has all scores come from the rb at the goal line. the second team had a lot of runs to get there. who played better? if you say the second qb....i just don't know what to say. i know td's are flashy and all, but its the yards that get you where you need to go. td's will happen once you're there.

James Dixon is the enigma on that list. Especially since it was during the 1-15 year. I think Jay Novacek, playing for the Cards, broke 100 yards receiving against us that same day. I think it was also the game Troy threw a bomb to Dixon and broke his finger. THe Cards came right back and scored a late TD to win a heart breaker. I think Troy stated that he was convinced they were going 0-16 at that point.

Didn't we block a punt against Minnesota and return it for a TD last year?

His best game by far was the Washington game last year at Texas Stadium. Not only cause he accounted for all of our scores, but because he did it a back n forth slobber knocker *Good Ol Jr tone* when we needed him most.

I think they mentioned a 20-catch game with about 280 yards against Chicago in 2000 when he still played with SF. Not sure how many TDs he had that game.

He has never had 300+yards receiving.

Doesn't Flipper Anderson hold the record - something like 330 yards.

Most Yards Gained, Game
336 Willie Anderson, L.A. Rams vs. New Orleans, Nov. 26, 1989 (OT)
309 Stephone Paige, Kansas City vs. San Diego, Dec. 22, 1985
303 Jim Benton, Cleveland vs. Detroit, Nov. 22, 1945
