Is Tony Romo Italian?

I read through 4 pages of eagles crap to find the answer, and still no answer.

I do believe i attempted an answer just above....

"I think I remember this question being asked on Mick's Mail, and Mickey said he was actually of a very far Mexican descent."

So I don't believe he's italian.

Sicilian specifically I believe, so at the core root of it all he is Italian. Let's just make it easy and call him an American.

The Cowboys win 1 game with Romo and you think everything's going to be fine now. You make me laugh.

The bye week came just in time for the Eagles. They'll be ready for the 2nd half of their schedule.

I also wouldn't be doing a lot of talking if I was you. What's the Cowboys record? 4-3? The Eagle's record is 4-4. So let's not act like the Cowboys are 3 games ahead of them. It's far from over..............

You made a big deal when it was 4-2 to 3-2 so why the righteous indignation now?

Italian-American.

i hate that, just like i hate "african-american" "asian-american" and all those others becuase unless you immagrated from italy or africa you are an American born citizen thus making you a full blown american, you may have italian heritage or african heritage but you are american

I can see your point. But with many families, they still recognize their heritage greatly. They are still active in their respective cultural community. I was born and raised in Texas my entire life, but it feels like I'm only 50% American. My parents emmigrated here from India. Based on the way they brought me up, I can definitely be referred to as Indian-American and not just as American.

Just being a citizen of a particular country does not make one an active participant in that country's culture.

We've only been a country for 230 years. It's hard to consider "American" your ethnic identity when your family wasn't native to this land and your American heritage can be only a couple generations max.

I read somewhere that he is Mexican on his dad's side. Romo sounds more Italian than anything. His name always conjures up images of a cheesy detective movie I saw on one of the old movie channels.

It starred Frank Sinatra as a detective. I believe it was called Tony Rome. Had an unbelievably corny song by his so called singing daughter too. The main hook was "Tony Rome will get you if you don't watch out...":laugh2:
I think I will sig it...

Tony Romo's grandparents on his fathers side were born in Mexico. Forgot where I read that, but it was fairly recent.

Found it
http://www.***BANNED-URL***/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/102906dnSpoRomoHome.331e74a.html

PROUD HERITAGE: Grandparents Ramiro and Phyllis Romo were born in Mexico. They raised Tony's father, Ramiro, in Wisconsin but now live in Crockett, Texas. Tony and his father embrace their Mexican heritage.

I remember listening to a ridiculous radio skit from a Dallas station 3 years ago where they came up to him and were making fun of Mexicans and asking him his opinion on it. He responded maturely saying that he would never do that because his heritage from his father's side is Mexican.
