Larry played RG for 3 seasons including the 95 Super Bowl season...

Having said that, ZM is approaching LA level greatness. Nobody will ever match the brute force of LA but as an overall player ZM is very close.

ZM 8x All Pro (6 were 1st team)

LA 7x All Pro (All 1st team)

ZM was 1st team All Pro as a rookie...

DIsclaimer: Neither LA or ZM has a big of an impact on the team as RT Erik Williams.

Was John Hannah a right tackle?
He was a right guard with New England (for those who may not know). One of the best I've seen. I can't say who was the best ever, at anything, but Hannah was dominant over numerous seasons in the 1970's and '80's.

I personally believe he is the best ever to wear the star but in all of the nfl top 3 maybe, I would place Marshal Yanda as 1 or 2, then there is Will Shield also a 12 time pro bowl selection.

The title of the thread said Right Guard. The tweet said best Guard

I love love love Martin. But gentleman....Larry Allen is the best OL....regardless of position...that ever played.

I recall Deion saying that if draft was being held today...the #1 overall pick would be Larry Allen. This is from the best CB that ever played the game. Deion...of all people...did not even nominate himself.

HOF DL have mentioned that they would fake injury to avoid playing on Dallas week. As much as I love Martin..don't think that has ever been said about him.

To many it seems pro football started in the 90's. There are so many worthy of being considered the best lineman at their position. Hard to pin it down to one player. If you do it is based more on emotion and favoritism. It would be more fair to say these are the ten best RG in NFL history in no particular order, and even then i am sure some would argue for their guy.

I think why alot of people look at things like All Pro selections when judging players across era's. It shows how consistently you were at the top of your position. Not the end all be all, but its still a good place to start
