i been saying this from early in the college yr. This guy is the best college player even over young.

Simmons, who earned his degree in December, finished this past season as the Butkus Award winner as the nation's best linebacker, as well as the Atlantic Coast Conference's Defensive Player of the Year. He had 102 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, eight sacks and three interceptions.

Simmons also had a 39-inch vertical jump at the combine to go with an 11-foot broad jump. The vertical was tied for second best among the linebackers and the broad jump was best among the linebackers.

Any team willing to take Young or Okudah over this kid is dumb and should be fired. IM not saying theyre bad players, but Simmons is head and shoulders above anybody in this draft.

Oh yeah he ran a 4.39

Chase young still the top defender but imagine trying to pick him or okudah. How do you make that call

I’m taking Young. It comes down to the economics of the position. The best LB in the game is only worth 2/3rds what the top DE is and I think both Young and Simmons can be the best players in their position.

Definitely has a freakish set of tools to work with. Will be interesting to see where he goes and how they plan to utilize him.

I agree. He is the one player I would trade up in the top 10 for. I just don’t think he will get past the Lions. The Skins are going to draft Young. The have conservative coach and want to build a defensive front similar to the 49ers. Simmons is the new age linebacker that we thought we had with LVE.

Here my question about Simmon......no question he's a stud tested damn well and play multiple positions. But how well does he play these different positions? Are we talking a high level or average? Remember Byron Jones combine tests blew many away. He came into the league as a CB/slot CB/S. Not trying to trash the kid. Kinda like an OLmen who can play every OL position well/good but none at an elite level. Just me, but with his talent and athleticism, I'd probably try and find his one true position and let him excel.

Im playing him like.steelers used polumalu. Just have him everywhere lol. Not only is he an absurd athelete but has good instincts as well
I think he could do alot of what Adams does in NY. Catalytic downhill player with plenty of range in coverage.

His best position is outside LB. He's elite there. It's not a Byron Jones situation at all.

Draft this kid and put him at LB’er. Move Jaylon to DE. I hate him at LB.

Pretty darn high. He's a baller.

He a natural athlete like Jones but he's an instinctive footballer with balls skils and Jones was never that. IMO he plays SS at the level of Eric Berry coming out and rushes the passer like Randy Gregory but those are secondary positions. He's a WILL LB and at 6'4 240lbs with 33.5-inch arms he's ideal size and length.

Absolute stud. We get nowhere near him.

Garrett's 2019 Cowboys were far too talented....oh plus six games with tanking teams on the schedule.

I'm with you, if there is a trade up target for Dallas, I would love this kid.

We have seen all world athletes in the past that never made it in this league. Both the linebacker and the safety positions require high level instincts. I have no idea if Simmons has them or not, but have seen the likes of Jaylon and Bruce Carter struggle due to poor instincts at the position. Both did have injury issues, but were considered elite athletes. Bryon Jones has the same issue, that's why he was such a poor safety.
