Isaiah Stanback will get a chance to be Dallas' punt returner this year.

Stanback, who weighs 215 pounds, has been clocked as fast as 4.42 in the forty-yard dash. Patrick Crayton would likely be his main competition but the Cowboys would prefer he focus more on being a wide receiver.

Good. I don't want to see Crayton catch the ball, run 2 yards and fall down.

And watching TNew do it gives me a coronary for fear of injury.

In other news, Spencer will get a chance to play OLB, Marten and Free will get a chance to play OT, and Courtney Brown will get a chance to play CB.

yeah but tnew was getting real good at it. he had a few nice returns(tenn.,tampa bay, and detroit) but he would be too big of a loss if he got hurt

I don't see how he'll be able to take the job from Newman.

Here's why...

he is an electrifying returner, but I think it makes most sense to use him as a situational returner. He's way too important to the D to have him returning punts on a FT basis.

Why would he have to take the job from Newman when it's not Newman's job to begin with? Newman only comes in on rare occasions like the one you posted. Given a healthy Stanback, he might even be better than Newman at returning punts.

Look at his return right before that.

Even more important, look at his return against the Colts (?), where he got jacked up.

It'd suck to have him injured due to his punt returning.

:muttley: I feel ya. My granny could go to those "40 schools" and improve from 1.5 minute 40 to a 1.4 minute 40.
