Is he a legit DE or is he a large linebacker? I guess few college DEs learn any technique these days, but does he have the talent and explosion for an edge rusher? Also I know he was kicked out or whatever for academic cheating, where would he be drafted?

He is expected to weigh in around 6-4, 270.

He looks like a UDFA to me. I'm not sure he ever proved anything on the field. Even without the character issues, would be a late round pick at best IMO. Aaron Lynch was a 5th round pick last year and he was much more proven player on the field, IMO.

He does have interesting size and athletic ability. He moved around in the open field really well for a guy his size.

Thought he was going in the 2016 draft....Is he even eligable for this year?

But he was a SR according to my Lindy's College Football magazine...and to his official BIO on Notre Dame's website. I don't see how he would be eligable for another year...unless he has a redshirt year to burn.

The year he was suspended wouldn't count against his eligibility.

He's going back to Notre Dame for his fifth year. He announced it in the fall.

Williams has the look of of a good edge rusher, and has the athleticism. He has horrible instincts, though, and has made very few plays in an Irish uniform. If he entered the draft this year, I would be surprised if he was picked before the sixth round, and not at all surprised if he went undrafted.

Brian VanGorder's scheme could be good for him to be isolated with some one on one matchups. If they keep it simple for him, and just let him rush upfield, he may finally live up to the hype he had as a five star recruit.

Notre Dame lists guys by academic year not football year like many schools. Lindy's and other college previews don't seem to get this.

Williams is a senior by academic standing, junior by football standing.
