Isn't it odd?

That we play seattle 3 times in two years and none of them are in Dallas, and there not even in the NFCE. For me (don't normally pay to much attention to Preseason) this is the first time I remember playing a team in Preseason and the regular season.

We played Arizona in both in 2003 and will do it this year as well. There have probably been several other times, but for the most part pre-season games aren't easily remembered so it seems like it hasn't happened before.

Yeah, wasn't Seattle an AFC team? Why'd they get moved to the NFC anyway?

We play the Cardinals and the Seahawks in the regular season, both of which we have played in the preseason. I don't think it's all that uncommon for it to happen. In the Texans innaugural year I'm pretty sure we played them in a preseason game, though I may be mistaking it for a scrimmage.

Same thing happens when we play Detroit.

It is almost always in Detroit. I can recall like one game back in the early 1990s (throwback game when Sanders ran all over us). Other than that, it is back to the 1970s or so since they came to Dallas.

Yep. Last years visit by Detroit was a rare thing. I am just glad they never have to play in the Silver Dome again. Dallas just failed to show up to any games played there.

And if we finish in the same place in our division that the Seahawks finish in their division, we'll play in Seattle next year, too.

That 37-3 win in 1992 was pretty sweet.

Yes, that was a sweet victory. That was the game that really surprised me at the time. I knew Dallas had a very good team, but it showed me how good they were when they just got everything done that game. I was so used to Dallas sleepwalking against Detroit. Same thing with New Orleans. Dallas always seemed to overlook both teams and then either end up losing or being in a close game when they should have won easily.

We played Seattle at home a few years ago. It was the game Emmitt broke the record. Me and my Seahawk fan friend made a trip and were at this game!

seattles first year 1976 they were an NFC West team
from 1977 to 2001 they were an AFC West team
2002 to present NFC west (again )

i cant remember but im sure it has something to do with even numbers of teams in the Conferences. maybe they went back to the NFC when Cleveland
got their new team ?? the memory isnt what it was

They went back to the NFC because the NFL didnt want both teams in Texas to be NFC teams, so Seattle was the team chosen to go to the NFC.

The Texans had to be put in one of the South divisions (the NFL went to eight divisions when the Texans came in), and they fit in the AFC South. The NFC South was complete with teams already in the NFC. One of the AFC West teams had to move to the NFC West, and Seattle was the obvious choice. The other four AFC West teams (Oakland, Denver, Kansas City and San Diego) were all from the old AFL West and had been together since 1963. And has been mentioned, the Seahawks originally were in the NFC.
