This guy was getting his hat handed to him by nearly every opponent he faced. And that was without scheming on the opponents defense and in season blitz packaging:facepalm: God help us........

Not in the opinion of NFL coaches.

31 teams had the opportunity to sign Alarcon after the cut to 53.

The Cowboys cut Alarcon.

That adds up to 32 teams that did not want him on their 53 man roster...

You sure about that? I thought the international players could be protected, but I could be wrong.

Not protected until after signed to the practice squad.

The IPP players must pass through waivers like other players.
- When signed to the practice squad, the team has the option to designate them as an IPP player which prevents them from being signed by another team.
- The IPP designation prevents them from being activated to the 53 man roster. The IPP must be terminated and then 3 weeks must pass before they can be activated.
- The 3 week rule is new. Previously they had no chance of being playing in a game the same season as being an IPP player.

This guy needs to be in the rotation if Connor Williams or McGovern goes down in-game. He has size, strength & athleticism to keep the offense flowing.

If he is ready to play, put him in now, no need to wait, it’s not rocket science.

Matt Farniok was clearly better than Alarcon when Farniok played OG.

Alarcon's competition at this point is OG Braylon Jones unless Alarcon can convince them to practice him at OT.

They will carry 8 OL on the gameday active roster (Teams only get the extra 2 gameday spots if they carry 8 OLinemen).

Tyron
Connor Williams
Biadasz
Connor McGovern
La'el

Backups
OC/OG: Matt Farniok
OT: Ty Nsekhe
8th OL: ???

The 8th OL is likely an OT this week. La'el has the stinger issue and Tyron is coming back from surgery.

Summary: It is possible that Alarcon has more physical talent that some other players but he is not better than them as a football player at this point in time.
Farniok really intrigued me
What little we got to from him was impressive
He seems to have a little attitude about that I like seeing in guys and seemed technically sound for a young play
Physical traits are a huge asset but just being a good smart player is really the most important traits
If you are blessed like smith and Martin and have both then you become an elite player

If he is active at the start of the season our season is over before it starts. He has the potential to be a good backup. His current talent will get Dak killed.

..no way, the bucs would eat this guy alive. He needs more time. His reaction time was serious issue. Has size and strength, but it takes brains to use them correct.

Alacarcon is not ready
MCGovern will fill in for Martin
It’s likely one game

Alacron is ready the only reason McGovern is starting because they have to make the draft pick look like it wasn’t a waste.

And because NFL rules dictate that an international player like Alacron may be eligible to play 3 weeks after the start of the season and would have to relinquish their IPP status. So he can't play this week by NFL rules.

You really believe MM would start a Garrett draft pick to make his predecessor look good?

Alarcon isn't ready technique and assignment wise? I understand getting him game experience but when he fails to understand his blocking assignment on a stunt or blitz, someone like Dak is gonna get hurt. Let him spend more time learning on the PS before throwing him to the wolves. Patience, grasshopper.

That’s a fantasy
MCGovern was much less raw coming in and has much more experience at the nfl level
I think most fans like the potential alacron has but understand he’s very raw
I really like his potential and I think he has a real shot at becoming a solid player, maybe more
Two different staffs who’ve work with him seem to see it the same way

The only way to get better and really develop his potential os through real game reps! Maybe he doesn’t start but he needs to be second string minimum.

That'd be great.....but the rules state he can't be activated until the Eagles game at the earliest.
