It all makes sense to me, but what do I know?

Just makes too much sense. Thinking back to last year, when Sean Payton left for New Orleans, taking assistant Gary Gibbs with him. It reminds me of what I am seeing this week with Norv Turner and his familiarity with not only Jason Garrett, but Mike Singletary, who he worked with last year in San Francisco. I feel pretty confident that Turner will be named head coach. I think that this was Jerry's plan for a while now. Garrett had been the right fit for Jerry for offensive coordinator, but had to be hired before the head coaching interviews would be concluded because of Miami's deadline. Norv interviewed with Jerry and likely solidified his place as head coach. During the interview they likely discussed the defense. Jerry surely is concerned with the defensive meltdown that has taken place. I think Jerry's pick would be Todd Bowles. He is familiar with Bowles, Parcells likely recommended Bowles, but I would imagine that Norv convinced Jerry to have a look at Singletary. And that is where we are today. I think Singletary will have a strong chance at winning the DC spot. He is interviewing for the head coaching position, but I don't think Nolan and the 49ers would deny him the oppurtunity of being DC here in Dallas. They would likely view it as a promotion from his position in S.F.

So anyway, that's what I am seeing... we'll see by next week for sure.

Here is my wishlist:

HC: Norv Turner for 2 years
OC: Jason Garrett
DC: Mike Singletary

For whatever reasons, SF is looking at other candidates to assume the DC role. It doesn't seem that Nolan wants Singletary as their DC.

If Singletary has the opportunity to be DC with the Cowboys, it wouldn't surprise me if SF let him go.

that sounds about right.... we do need to address the defense and Singletary and Bowles will make a good team that can relate to the players and use them to thier strenghths..
I sure hope we announce Singletary as DC, we probably get the best of all worlds on both sides of the ball as a result

If we appoint Singletary as DC, I think we should also add Single WR Coach -#81 to his title.
