When Jerry signed Dieon, I know a lot of you loved him, I'm not one of you. He had a lot of talent, but his attitude and the change he made in this franchise we are still paying for now.

When I saw him not entering the defensive huddle, he was too important for that and the coaches let him get away with it, I knew we were done. Why did the coaches let him get away with it? Because Jerry allowed players like Dieon to upsurp their coaches authority.

That was the blueprint for the next 15 years that we have seen from the Cowboys management. That leads to lack of discipline which has been the hallmark of Cowboy teams during this stretch.

When Coughlin sat Bradshaw in the first half of our first game against the Giants, with, at the time, their whole season on the line. I was jealous that our coaches didn't have the same fortitude or maybe even permission to do the same. We didn't see a Mara step in and over ride Coughlin's decision.

Heck, I'm not saying anything new here that others who agree that Jerry is the biggest problem with this franchise haven't said before, I'm just venting. This is one big electronic game of Madden with a senile drunk at the controls for our team.

Can it be fixed, almost anything can. I actually like Garrett as the HC because of his team work ethic and the discipline I think he wants to bring to this team, but just like Parcells I think he is not a great game day OC. I think we all agree our best years were the Landry and JJ years, both of those guys had coordinators on both sides of the ball.

I would have more patience with Garrett if he were allowed to make all of the coaching decisions and made the correct ones. If he really feels this team is better off with him as the HC and OC, well then I think he is the wrong person as the HC of the Cowboys. There is no accountability though because...Well because I don't really know who is making the calls? Is it Garrett? Is it Jerry?

Are we the only team in the NFL that has four really important positions in the organization maned by only two people? We have one guy that has two positions as GM and Owner. We have another two positions, HC and OC also done by one person.

For all of Jerry's outrageous spending he has done for years on free agents and a new stadium, he cheap's out on the GM and coaching position to an extent.

To be honest, I would rather have a General Patton be in charge of this team more so that Jerry, who reminds me more of a President Carter.

Okay, rant over. Happy New Years everyone.

I am one of the few here who will agree with you on Deion. I never wanted him in the first place and do NOT agree with those, including Deion himself, who state that he is the reason we won the SB in 1995.

I also agree that his signing and the attitude he brought has infected this team ever since but I believe it actually started when Jerry fired Jimmy/Jimmy quit, however people want to believe it.

An old business axiom goes something like this:

"Your company is specifically organized to achieve the results you are getting."

In other words, the results you get are the result of how you are organized and the results over the past 16 seasons are the result of how this team is organized, beginning at the top.

Since everything else has changed over the past decade and a half except the guy at the top that only leaves one inescapable conclusion... which somehow continues to escape the one guy who needs to recognize it. :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

This team will NEVER win another championship with Jerry at the helm.

He is the reason why we can't win consistently but he has deluded himself into thinking that he is the reason why we won 3 SBs in the 90s and that he is the guy that can get us there again but he wasn't and he isn't.

I just have to outlive Jerry (he's 16 years older than me) and then maybe, just maybe I can see my team return to glory once more before I die.

I used to look forward to football season and to every game like it was Christmas morning. The last several years that joy and excitement have eroded away to a pale hope that maybe this week we won't piss the game away... again.

It might be different if this were the Lions or Cards who have a LONG history of sucking but our glorious history has set expectations very high and we have enough talent to win these games but all too often find a way to give them away.

I actually had more fun this season watching the local Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton than I did my beloved Cowboys. They only won a few games but the expectations were low with a rookie QB and coming off the worst record in the league last year, plus a new HC in Ron Rivera but they played good football for the most part and were enjoyable to watch.

It doesn't matter who we draft, what changes in personnel or coaches we make this offseason, next year will be more of the same heartbreaking losses and failure down the stretch and Jerry will reiterate yet again that he has no intention of EVER giving up control of the team.

I guess I will go and root for the Lakers for the next 6 months and see how they can do.

The Cards actually made a Super Bowl, and the Lions are in the playoffs.

At least we're not the Bengals. Hold it ... the Bengals are in the playoffs.
