When things don't go too well, I have this tendency to try and minimize the damage by thinking 'what would make this worse'? And this was easy.

We don't like the Eagles winning the SB but what if Chip Kelly was the HC or worst football nightmare possible, Buddy Ryan? Just let the image of Ryan, with his hate of all things Cowboys, spouting off, grinning like a possum.

What? That didn't do it for you? OK, try this one on for size. Jaworski or McChunky as the winning QB. That do it?

Hey, we can take pride in the fact we clobbered the SB champ, just like we did back in 89 with our one win. The Patriots gave up 41, the Vikings gave up 38 and what did our beloved Cowboys give up? 0, nada, zilch, goose egg, aught. We took our 6 points, kicked the dust in their face and rode off into the sunset. And it sure as hell set on us.

Take that, SB champs!

Sometimes I try to look on the bright side. At 9 and 7 we didn't have a winning record, but it feels hollow. That's barely above 8 and 8 mediocrity. For 20 plus years we've been mediocre to poor most years. There are worse franchises like the Browns, but I remember great years in the 70s and 90s.

People raise their bar of expectation WAY too high instead of just enjoying a sport they have zero control over. The way that some fans speak of the team, staff and players is oddly sad. We still have fans who are STILL hurt, like really hurt that Romo is gone.
I take the approach that nothing someone else does is going to effect my day. And when something good/great happens it's that much more fun.
