It does look like they’re trying every combination on D

Today I saw they played a 5-2. Had Poe and Woods in the middle. Crawford and Griffin/DLaw on the ends and Smith as a hybrid DE/LB.

They benched Thompson.

Offensively they benched Steele.

Coaches are trying anything that will work. But players aren’t good enough. When you turn the ball over, it’s hard to game plan for that.

I thought McCarthy was going to put people on notice and make the brain dead errors under JG go away. Perhaps JG wasn’t the problem.

Imagine how terrible Ha-Ha must have looked for them to think Darian Thompson and Donovan Wilson were the answer.

Having both starting corners and your two best LB’s out doesn’t help. Especially a smart one like Lee.

Nolan sucks, let’s face it.
Do we really know since he was given no time to get the scheme implemented? I’ll agree it should be better than this but as a post above said, take 4 starters out and combine that with no time to prepare and this is where you’re at

Look at his his history, beyond this year.

His history has a lot of turnovers/sacks. The style the team wanted is like a college basketball team that presses all game long. Yes they’re going to give up some easy ones, but the offense will keep the pressure on all game long by scoring nearly every time down and the defense will make enough plays to win over the course of the game.

The problem is the offense is the one that now has to be perfect because the defense puts no pressure on the opposition.
