it's good to be home and it's good to be excited about this team again.
Well, it's going to be exciting alright! I could not believe my eyes when I saw Romo come in the game last night...it made the game exciting...the game seemed to pick up speed...
Now, Romo made his fair share of mistakes, however, it was only his 1st game...his 1st REAL game!
Some might think that he lost that game and Bledsoe should have stayed in...but, I don't know, and neither does anyone else. There were others that contributed to that loss too! Maybe the ref that got in the way of Roy, that touchdown does not happen? Maybe that tipped pass on Romo's first throw is not intercepted? (as they say...doo-doo happens)...and T.O. not catching that 4th and 2?
But all that did happen, and not all of it was Romo...
I love youth! I love the feisty exuberance that young people bring to the table...that no fear, fun attitude...and, he is a home grown player at that!
He now needs to learn his responsibilities as a QB, and learn how to control his instincts, however, he still needs those "chance instincts" that many QB's have...I guess they call it the "having it"?
I honestly believe that his youth will make a BIG difference in the Oline play, because if the coaches design game plans that utilize Romo's "mobility", those poor fat *******s won't have to maintain their blocks for 1/2 hour while Bledsoe decides to get rid of the ball...
Bledsoe, I feel bad for him, but, damn, football is a young man's game! There comes a day that you have to finally realize that you might be a little to old for things, and you MUST step aside, because there is always that young guy wanting to take your job...
After the game last night, although the Boyz lost, I had a smile on my face! I no longer want to hear about "playoffs" and "SuperBowls" and all that crazy stuff! It just does not concern me anymore at this time, and I'm not going anywhere, so I'm patient.
What I want to see is a young man grow into a football player, or fail as one...because that is what is important for this team. Show us what you got, Romo! We saw what Bledsoe has to offer. And, if Romo cannot get the job done, fine with me! At least I know that the Cowboys brass finally wanted to find out for themselves just exactely where the QB position stands.
Never doubt the minds of the youth, because they are our future...
Good luck, Cowboys, the rest of the way! Win or lose...I'll be watching...I'm here to stay...
Wonderful post Iceberg!
