I knew one day Tom Landry would be gone. I will not deny that I was excited to get Jimmy Johnson from Miami, but for years I wanted Dan reeves to be the guy who replaced Landry. My reason was simple. He was a Dallas Cowboys player, Assistant Coach, and him being the HC here just seemed perfect.

As we all know that didn't happen. I nearly got a partial wish in 2008 when he was coming to be a consultant here, but again as we all know that fell apart.

In 1993 I became a fan of a 3rd string QB named Jason Garrett. It was entirely because of his intelligence for the game. Something I deeply respect.

It isn't Dan Reeves, but it feels like I imagined that would.

So if he is retained as the permanent coach, do you think he hires an offensive coordinator and relieves himself of playcall?

I sure hope you're right about him

You have hitched your wagon to him. 8 games should give us some insight into whether he is here in 2011 or not.

Not gonna lie, he passed the press conference test with flying colors. Mark me down as impressed by the way he carries himself. Of course, that could mean diddly squat Sunday (see: Bill Parcells) but he's much more impressive than I assumed

That's the big question for me, too.

We could really benefit by bringing in somebody with a feel for the running game.

Maybe, maybe not.

Maybe he pushes for an OL overhaul, and we see his playcalling was never as bad as some on here dwell on.

Just happy to have Wade out of here. Feels like I just got over a bad flu.

I hope you're right Hos, but, I don't have a real good feeling about this move at the moment.

That's funny coming from someone who just wrote he's not Garrett's biggest fan.

Let Romo call the plays the rest of the season. And put McGee in.

Here's my thoughts on the whole thing.....

I don't care WHO the HC is....just WIN. Have I been happy with him since he's been here? No, not really.

However, he has things REALLY stacked against him at this point in time...no OL to speak of is the BIGGEST problem that he faces. Who would have thought that we were a team that could run a 6 yard average everytime we run the ball last year to this year? Not even being able to get hardly more than two yards a carry? And I'm not even sure about that stat.

They can't pass protect, for anything and they never really could since Romo has been here....earning that nickname "Jedi" because he constantly had to evade pressure.

Romo made this offense...period. I think that is showing and will continue to show more so the longer he is out.

I don't expect to see a big turnaround DUE to that O-line.

Then again, if we had an adept o-line, WP would still be here....if we had DB's, he's still be here as well.

Things are stacked against JG....that is for sure.

I fault ALL of the coaches for this as I think they have more input with JJ than most think....they failed in bringing up certain failings in certain players, IMO....and if they did bring those things up and JJ didn't listen....then that is on JJ and nothing can be done about that.

Once again, JG has a MOUNTAIN to climb over and if he can do ANYTHING with this team in the remaining 8 games, great....and it doesn't have to show up in the W/L category.....it's gotta show up in the play.

Otherwise WP/JG....two sides of the same coin.

Hos, If he goes say 1-7 - 2-6 and is replaced by Gruden, how will you feel?

And besides the fact you fell in love with him on that Great Turkey Day Rescue, what else makes you think he's the right guy?

I'm not being a D about this either, I just wanna know, you seem to have insight on some things most of don't as what has conspired over the years.

Thx.

I just hope Jason hires the right assistants...........

That will be IMHO his biggest decisions right now........

We all witnessed what Shula did as a OC under Jimmy Genius......it wasnt till Norv got here that things started to mesh nicely on offense.

I hope Jason has the power to get his assistants.......
