There have been a few false narratives this off-season amongst fans but this one is one of the more annoying ones. The Cowboys want to be a passing team.......

The Cowboys would love to win games running the football.....but make no mistake if the Cowboys go into this season leading the league in penalties and starting games off slow like they did last season? They will once again be airing it out all game.

Not to mention the run game sucked without all of those things last season

this is actually much worse than I thought. Their entire offense this year was based on the fact they assumed they would run the ball better. And they are still assuming that.

they are woefully unprepared for reality as usual.

In a passing league sure why not???
Run or Pass just win baby!
Problems start cause they can't vs playoff teams....unless there wearing an Eagles uniform!
1-13 is truly pathetic vs playoff non-Eagles teams!!!

Both Zeke and Pollard were dealing with injuries for the last eight games.

They ran for 200 yards a game in a five game stretch. They won all five games. Then Moore became pass happy. Switching things up for no reason.

So, if our backs can stay healthy and Moore can stick with it, I see no real reason why a run first offense won't work this year. Shultz and Cooper can't block worth a dang, but that didn't stop us from imposing our will during that five game stretch. Shultz is trying to be a more complete TE and Cooper is gone. So, if the OL can handle their assignments, we should be just as efficient this year.

If it works they'll look like geniuses....if it fails...oh well they've been failing and it doesn't seem to phase them.

That’s never been a narrative. Everyone *wants* to run the ball.

They ran down on teams they could beat. Typically when they run the ball its because they are playing a inferior team and having their way. That Bucc's D line was stout and made us a passing team. I expect the same this year if they are going to keep making penalties.

The narrative around here and everyone is that Dallas wants to pass the ball. I didn't make that up. Moore and Garrett had the reputation of not wanting to run the football.

Yes, you did make that up.

Fans around here have accused the Cowboys of not being dedicated to running the ball, but there isn’t a single franchise that doesn’t *want* to.

The Cowboys just have more success in their current iteration as a passing team. Or have in recent history at least. That’s what happens when you have three elite WRs and a good QB.

Maybe YOU think they want to run the football but that's on the case amongst this fanbase. Stephen and Jerry are literally answering questions everyday about running the football. #Runthedamnfootball is a whole hashtag lol. But I made it up....ok. Just say you don't know what im talking about and move on.

They say they want to be a running team yet Moore hates running the football.

Again, you’re talking about what fans are saying in regards to what they’re seeing.

You’re assuming (making things up) based on fan observations. You’re a product of the social media generation, obviously. Fan reactions are factual analysis. “Bet”

You’re absolutely lost if you don’t think every team in the NFL wants to be able to run the ball. Even pass-first teams know how important it is.

They can want to be a running team all day. I’d prefer they lean into whatever is the teams greatest strength—passing. Those of you claiming this “they don’t want to run” BS would be pissing the same vinegar if they ran Zeke 30 times/game and lost the majority of their games while ignoring their more potent style—passing. You’d scream about Moore being “too conservative.” I know this to be a fact because you’ve done it!

Sometimes, what you want to do, runs headlong into what you can do, which dictates what you are going to do.

If the offense, for whatever reason, poor execution or penalties, consistently finds themselves in 2nd or 3rd and long you're going to be a passing team whether you want to or not.
