It Seems That Most Fans Hate Anything Said Negatively Towards Dez

Now let me start off by saying not everyone is in this boat. It seem that most fans HATE anything said negatively towards Dez, almost as if your a "trader" if you say anything bad, weather be the truth and constructive criticism he gets a pass from this because of his "out of this world" talent.

Don't get me wrong I love Dez and wish the best for him and any other Cowboy. There is alot of things hindering or holding back Dez from star potential that he seems to be prematurely labeled with. The fact that he gets a pass just baffles me, he need to be held accountable just like any other player in NFL should be for his wrongdoings. I.e. route running, film studying etc.....

I just hope the coaches, FO, Jerry, or however has a say so does not give him the same pass as the fans do!!!

So my question is if your one of the fans I'm talking about why do you give him a pass I would really like to know and, could be persuaded as I like to keep a open mind. Rant over lol and, please let's keep personal attacks in name calling out of this thank you.

If he was doing this 3-4 years into his career, i would say cut it his *** (can't run every route)

But other than that, what are you talking about?

I hope you don't buy the media hype that he is a problem child. He just has to get the mental part of the game down, which I am sure he will.

Because whenever there is a story about Dez, some people blow it out of proportion. So when those people act crazy, you get others, who will come back just as insane, because they can't believe people are treating Dez like a thug, or a mini TO.

Dez didn't pay some bills, cool. I'm sure we all have debts, were late to pay a bill some point in our life.

Some people expect him to be perfect, and some people understand he still has to grow, give him a chance. Just don't attack like a pack of piranhas at every story you hear.

Also the media will make **** up, thats why some fans get upset. Like he was late for practice. Then Garret came out and said No he wasn't. So all those other stories could be made up

This, I agree with everything u said I believe media persuade people to negatively towards players.....I only want people to meet in the middle. Its seem there's either black and white, with no gray area. Look at how people treat Romo, so when the media says anything about Dez people go directly to the other side to act as a counterweight and I don't want this to affect the players.........does this make any sense

Dez is playing the same as Miles this year ...... and both were frustrated on the sidelines last week.

Something else is wrong ..... its not Dez and Miles.

I hate dumb irrelevant things said about anyone or tabloid nonsense posted. I am in full agreement that Dez needs to learn the offense better and find a more healthy way to channel his emotions.

What bothers me is the media and many fans alike are treating Dez like he's a 4th year 25 year old when he's not. He missed most of his rookie camp to injury, he missed a year of college ball prior to that because of suspension. He missed a lot of his rookie year to injury and missed a true offseason his second year because of the lockout.

So any intelligent person should be able to conclude that because of this, he's going to be a little behind, even more so than most 22 year old second year starters. I'll be concerned if he still looks the same next year, this year it's all about learning and improving for him.

Couchscout has the only non-emotional and well thought out criticism I've seen regarding his running a curl route. He leaves all the drama out and I'm fine with that sort of criticism.

He and I have had a nice discussion about if it's that Dez does not know the route or if there is more too it than that.

Reasonable criticism and concern is great. "Oh my God, this kid can't even pay his bills and doesn't know how to run routes and when is he ever gonna have a 100 yard game" is overreacting. We don't know what play was called, we don't know how the defense affects what he's doing and it's just assumed since he did not get open it's because he ran a bad route.

I agree he does not know enough of the playbook yet but I believe it's in large part to all the time he's missed, and that his talent alone got him by in college. So he'll be a late bloomer and maybe not fully understand the playbook until he's 25? Well, that means he'll breakout about the same time most WR's do.

answer this..

why dont the same media go after other elite receivers like fitzgerald, andre johnson, megatron, greg jennings, etc.

these receivers arem ore "ELITE" than the 2 named above

when you answer that question you will have your answer

it is not that hard
you just have to open your eyes and be objective

and please dont say it is becasue Dez is a cowboy

lol, guilty! Why are you comparing Dez in his second year after missing so much time and at only 22 years old to probable HOF WR's? Dez was a media firestorm coming out of college and if you deny they have tried to blow everything Dez, good and bad out of proportion, you're in denial.

I'm talking about Dez on the field, almost all receivers are raw coming into the league and perfect things like beating press coverage, the playbook and routes over several years. Yet Dez is expected to be great at all of it his second year after missing all that time, ridiculous.

As far as the tabloid crap, unless he's breaking the law or violent, I'm not interested.

Here another example. Do you think it's got something to do with the oline struggling and the scheme of long developing plays? It's not like these two stop trying in the second half or are individually screwing up. It starts with the line not allowing the QB to get through his reads or giving the play a chance to develop.

Blame is fine, just put it in the right place. And I'm not suggesting Miles and Dez are perfect or without blame. But they alone are not the reason our passing game is struggling. If they get open and the ball does not come their way, there is nothing they can do about it.

I would like to see specific examples of crazy. Some would say I'm doing that in this thread and I disagree. I'd like some facts presented instead of, where the heck is Austin? That's all.

I personally like Dez so far. I just think he doesn't know the playbook.

But what aggravates me is the alleged stories that come along with them that have been fabricated or just a flat out lie. There's a difference between not knowing the playbook and missing meetings.

It just seems that unless you are Miles Austin, if you're a WR on this team the media is relentless and just makes up any story they can and never apologize when they are completely wrong.

I think many feel the same way. The kid loves football and is passionate about the game and seems like a good teammate.

I thought the Dez supporters went overboard with the 'hazing' thing. But other than that, I understand their support of Dez because if anything...that's what a fan does...supports their players.

Still, he needs to learn the playbook. If he doesn't, we need to be unafraid in replacing him with somebody who knows the playbook and can perform. And no, he wasn't 'schooled' by Asomugha. He got held badly on that play and of course, the blind ref didn't see it.

Constructive criticism I have no issue with, the piling on and some of the attacks he gets is another. As for a free pass I don’t see any Cowboy players getting a free pass as they come under fire on a regular basis. Some deserved, some not

There is no excuse for not knowing the playbook by now. He had all that time injured to study it; had all that time during the lockout to study it and still has not learned it. Sorry but that is unprofessional.

And stop making excuses for him. He is a professional now and needs to start understanding it. The enablers making excuses for him do not help.

Easy there, lol. I was referring to Hookems post about Austin as an example, sorry I was not more clear I did not mean you. I like your OP and am not at all bothered by you raising the question. I'm just pointing out examples in this thread of the types of posts that cause people to disagree with unfounded or at a minimum, not well thought out criticism.

If he had said, I'm concerned with the drops because Austin had quite a few last year as well, do you think this could have something to do with his lack of production so far? I'd have agreed it's part of the problem and wanted to talk about it.

I like a reason why someone has issue with an individual player. It's one of my many issues I should probably seek help with, lol.
